Georgia is gonna slant us to death, I would if I was calling plays.

If I’m Georgia, I’m calling a slant every 3-5 downs. Make our corners come up then drop it over the top. Our corners will be tested and tested. From what I seen Sat, we have plenty to improve on in the Defensive Back field.

JG has to have a hell of a game for us to be able to get the W.
Those are the two things that stand out to me.

Scout team QB is gonna be important this week, gotta get some pressure on our DB’s in practice to get them better prepared. Think it’s fair to assume that DB’s and secondary players have suffered the most from the lack of practice given that playing DB is one of the hardest positions out there

I expect Pruitt to dial plays up on defense that kirby and this qb haven’t seen before on film.the kitchen sink will be thrown this week and the boys will be locked in.Pruitt wants kirby on that wall

I agree on the defensive side. I was mostly speaking about our offense. I don't see us suddenly throwing to the TEs and in the middle of the field. I think they just want JG to manage the game and not lose it for us by throwing where he isn't comfortable

I wouldn't say great

Just be competitive vs UGA, Bama, and FL. As long as we give them a good game that's a sign we are headed in the right direction. However, if they blow us out it won't look good at all. This year is setting us up for 2021 when we take the next big step. Must close this year with a great recruiting class as well.

No. Going 7-3 this year is akin to Butch going 8-4 and honestly this 8 game winning streak. Who did you beat? Auburn and AM have been proven as frauds and nobody else on our schedule has been impressive. 7-3 is basically an average 8-4 season in a regular year. Nothing impressive.

Who knows? Maybe Cade doesn't go pro after this year because he wants to play another year with Cooper! Wishful thinking, but I wouldn't have thought at this time a year ago that Trey Smith would have returned.
Trey came back to show NFL teams that he can play in consecutive seasons. If Cade dominates this season, I think he declares. Playing with his brother has already been accomplished.

Look at our roster and then look at FL, Georgia, and Bama. We are not there yet. So I disagree. Knocking off Auburn and Texas AM as well as taking care of business against SCAR, missouri, UK, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt is impressive.

I agree. If we go 7-3 and beat Auburn and A&M we are basically the top team in contention for breaking through to elite status in the SEC in 2021.

Three years to go from winless in conference to that is impressive and shows we are headed in the right direction.

One. Game, At. A. Time. That's how the team is handling it and I ride with the team way. Do your best and enjoy the ride.

Like MV posted - the slants. Secondary has got to get more aggressive and the LB's need to read the routes/QB eyes better to get in the passing zones. The D needs to step up and play their assignments. Taylor needs to get his act together. Safety play has to improve as well. They are filling the gaps well on runs and swing passes, yet, are taking bad angles and late on intermediate to deep passes. They are not trying to strip the ball out on runs either. Each needs to do their job and not just run around out there. Bennett is relatively short, so they need push in the pocket with arms up. Middleton needs to be rusher on the inside. They know all this and I am sure CJP and CDA will be in their heads all week.

On O keep JG from brain fading, keep Chaney focused on the run game, and turn the big'uns loose up front to do what they do - maul.

On the Jeremy Pruitt show Pruitt pointed out what seemed like a lot of mental errors in the back end of our defense against Missouri. He also pointed out some lapses in our edge containment against the run. Pruitt always seems to be coaching and of course he points out a lot of positives as well. One of the big negatives he pointed out from Saturday, and he repeated it a few times over the course of the show as he and Bob were reviewing the highlights, is that sometimes we had a lot of guys standing around.

We didn’t have a lot of contribution from our special teams yesterday. No return yardage that I recall, not that there was any available, kickoff out of bounds, and a missed field goal. We’ll need everything we can get from our special teams units this coming week. Given that Georgia has the #1 scoring defense in the conference (we’re at #2) special teams could be the deciding factor. jmo.

Obviously the offensive line put in the best performance we’ve seen in a while but it was against Missouri, who we knew would struggle on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Against Georgia our offensive line will have to be more consistent, like bringing it on every play. I think we’re a lot better than Auburn up front. Auburn had to replace 4 starting Olinemen from last year so their struggles are expected. Our guys this week are going to be facing a front orders of magnitude better than Missouri or South Carolina. jmo.

Georgia so far is #1 in rushing defense, #1 in passing defense, #1 in total defense, and as previously noted #1 in scoring defense. They’ve only allowed their opponents (Arkansas and Auburn) to reach the redzone 2 times total. That’s a league leading best. We’re 2nd best allowing 5 redzone incursions in our first 2 games.

I think everyone knows that we will likely need to be a lot sharper on both sides of the ball and in special teams this coming week in order to come home with the Win. I think our defense will likely play its best game of the season. I’m sure we’re going to work hard on that during this week of preparation. The difference in the game I think probably is going to be our offense vs Georgia’s defense. This will be on Chaney. I mean he’s the key to this game. We probably don’t have to score a lot of points but we have to figure out a way with what we’ve got to score more than anyone else has in recent games against Georgia’s defense. jmo.

I don’t see Georgia’s offense as that much of a threat. Pruitt should have the best defense they have faced thus far. They’re on their 3rd offensive coordinator in 3 years so we should have a slight advantage in familiarity with our offense. They may have fewer options. In the past Georgia has been able to out talent us. We’re closing that gap, at least with our top players. We have the experience advantage. This is probably going to be a helluva physical game. I think we see some things on offense (from our playbook) that we have not yet seen and I think that could be the difference in this game. jmo.

I feel like we are, as a program, where Butch had us in 2015. I remember thinking we were one year away at that time. (We all know how 2016 turned out but we probably have a better coach now)

Agreed. I’d still trade any of those wins mentioned for a win vs Florida though.

Chaney loved his TE’s at GA so you never know...I say throw it to whoever Georgia least expects it to go to.

Doing what you should isn't impressive.
UGA has big questions at QB, they dont have dominant HB like years past, are young at TE and their o line has taken a step back. Defensively they are stout, but we have a line that should be able to wear their line out.
AL, they've come back to the pack after losing a generational talent at QB. They really only have one back their year in Harris. Defensively they aren't as dominant as in years past.
FL, offensively their o line is weak and they dont have much of a run game. Defensively they are very average. They dont have that elite lockdown corner they've had the past few years, and their pass rush isn't as good either.
This is the year to take that first step, we dont need to get all 3 but getting one is important.
