If he’s right, we don’t have a chance on Saturday

I'd expect this behavior from Catbone. Don't give in to the BVS.

Apparently MO @ LSU being moved to LSU @ MO - I wonder how ballistic GA would go if our game could somehow get moved to Knoxville. Weather-wise it probably doesn't help that much but you'd just love to see the meltdown in the Dawg fanbase. jmo.

I hope it doesn’t change location. That would mean we’d play there next year. Rather play in Knoxville next year when we’d have a true home field advantage.

I don’t know what to think of this game. My head says we don’t have a chance. That defense is absolutely nasty. We have decent receivers, but no game changers out there. Gonna be hard for them to get separation. We have a nasty OL and good backs, but that running game is against the strength of their team, the best front 7 in football. Not exactly easy. And then we have JG, who has been much better this year, but also hasn’t faced much pressure. He’s gonna have to throw accurate balls into tight windows under pressure on Saturday. Our offense is going to have a hard time. But you also have to wonder how much of that was AU being really bad. They’re not a good football team.

Our defense isn’t there yet. We’re getting better every week and eventually it’s going to click, especially for our secondary. Outside of Henry, our LB’s struggle in coverage. Hopefully Sham being back helps us defend the middle. On the DL, lot of experience, but Solomon out of shape and Middleton didn’t do much Saturday in his first game back. We have experience, but no stars there on the DL. They’re good but not great. They’ll get better as the year progresses. Hopefully they and the secondary take that step on Saturday.

But then I think of GA’s offense. They aren’t scary at all. I don’t think Ga can line up and run the football against us at will even tho we aren’t where we need to be yet on the DL. Honestly I think Bennett is about the same level as Mizzou’s QB we played on Saturday. Ga has better receivers and RB’s but if we can get pressure to Bennett, we can force him to make mistakes. He threw 14 picks in juco last year. He hasn’t fixed that in an offseason of no football. This is the key. If we want to win, we have to get to Bennett. He’ll miss and he’ll throw us the ball. That’s our chance.

Our defensive game plan will be similar to theirs, stop the run and put pressure on the quarterback. If we can do those two things better than them, we can win this game. Auburn really didn’t do either of those. I only remember a couple times where Bennett was under pressure.

Excellent post! And this game means more to me than any game has meant in a long time. A win against this Georgia team will act as a catalyst to Pruitt taking this program to the next level.

Kentucky should’ve beat Auburn
Aubby is good but there not great, they seem to be down this year for whatever reason but do have the potential to be good
I think UT beats them also
Can’t turn the ball over and need long time consuming drives
Don’t think we can take the top off this defense unless there’s busted coverage so JG will have to rely on short accurate Passes which makes me nervous.... Palmer, Johnson and hopefully TE fant(I’m rooting for him) come ready to play and be physical
UGA has one big time WR and potential at TE
Your right our LBs (27&33) can’t cover worth a **** right now but they are learning, sham would be a tremendous addition
Make Bennett uncomfortable and they won’t move the ball effectively IMO
Our tackles have to be ready bc Ojulari is a freak
Special Team play could really make or break us also
Need to make FGs if that’s what we have to settle for
Really wish our DL would pick it up and raise the intensity level
My mind says we don’t win but my heart pumps orange and says we have a fighting chance
GBO!!!!!!

we're on the same page. posted some similar thoughts in the game thread.

i'm looking for reasons to change my prediction. and the only two i think that give us a chacne are wether or not our offensive front can handle thier defensive front...that gives us a chance in pass protection and the run game....

and whether or not our defense gets some turn overs....on your point about the picks....i think for that to happen, our offense is gonna have to show something that forces GA's offense to stress a little...like they have to possess the ball..they have to score.

if they can go out there, and even go 3 and out, but the defense shuts us down....then offense for them gets really, really easy.....

We have to remember that it’s going to be difficult for Roman Harper to hide the dislike for Tennessee. He was a member of that 2005 Bama teamthat beat Fulmer and ended their drought against Tennessee. He was e player that punched the ball out to create the turnover that sealed the game. They hated Tennessee and Fulmer and there was a similar hate for Tennessee that we currently feel about Georgia. Let’s face it, if you’re in your 40’s and a a Tennessee fan, Georgia was a afterthought in my mind when we played them when I was a child and all the way up into college. It was Bama and Florida, Georgia felt like a South Carolina game to me.

Trey Smith is the best Guard is football, Cade Mays will be drafted in the first two rounds, Kennedy has valuable experience, Morris/Wright/Carvin all have NFL potiental and are starting to play like it. It is impossible UGA has more NFL talent in their front 7 when we have 5 guys with NFL talent on our line.

Then we have an experienced RB leading the league in rushing and a an NFL caliber back in Gray.

It is ignorant to say we won't be able to move the ball on the ground.
Lol right? 4 5 star O Linemen, and the leading rusher in the SEC who might be our second best RB

yup.

On VQ podcast today, they said Pruitt wants to beat UGA more than any other team. You have to believe his players feel the same way and will leave it all out on the field. Sometimes you just gotta want it more.
I wonder what would make Pruitt want this one more than Florida or Bama? Recruiting purposes? Doesn’t like Kirby? Respect for Saban? Simply because it’s the next game on the schedule? Or he believes this team can win it, and wants this team to believe it, do it, and take the next step?

Maybe because it's first of the 3 big games.

Probably due to recruiting and wanting to get on even playing ground with Kirby since they can be seen as the most similar of Saban, Smart, and Mullen.

Pruitt wants to put a wall around the state of Georgia to get all them croots.

Probably a mixture of several of the things you said.
