Apparently MO @ LSU being moved to LSU @ MO - I wonder how ballistic GA would go if our game could somehow get moved to Knoxville. Weather-wise it probably doesn't help that much but you'd just love to see the meltdown in the Dawg fanbase. jmo.
I don’t know what to think of this game. My head says we don’t have a chance. That defense is absolutely nasty. We have decent receivers, but no game changers out there. Gonna be hard for them to get separation. We have a nasty OL and good backs, but that running game is against the strength of their team, the best front 7 in football. Not exactly easy. And then we have JG, who has been much better this year, but also hasn’t faced much pressure. He’s gonna have to throw accurate balls into tight windows under pressure on Saturday. Our offense is going to have a hard time. But you also have to wonder how much of that was AU being really bad. They’re not a good football team.
Our defense isn’t there yet. We’re getting better every week and eventually it’s going to click, especially for our secondary. Outside of Henry, our LB’s struggle in coverage. Hopefully Sham being back helps us defend the middle. On the DL, lot of experience, but Solomon out of shape and Middleton didn’t do much Saturday in his first game back. We have experience, but no stars there on the DL. They’re good but not great. They’ll get better as the year progresses. Hopefully they and the secondary take that step on Saturday.
But then I think of GA’s offense. They aren’t scary at all. I don’t think Ga can line up and run the football against us at will even tho we aren’t where we need to be yet on the DL. Honestly I think Bennett is about the same level as Mizzou’s QB we played on Saturday. Ga has better receivers and RB’s but if we can get pressure to Bennett, we can force him to make mistakes. He threw 14 picks in juco last year. He hasn’t fixed that in an offseason of no football. This is the key. If we want to win, we have to get to Bennett. He’ll miss and he’ll throw us the ball. That’s our chance.
Excellent post! And this game means more to me than any game has meant in a long time. A win against this Georgia team will act as a catalyst to Pruitt taking this program to the next level.I don’t know what to think of this game. My head says we don’t have a chance. Lol right? 4 5 star O Linemen, and the leading rusher in the SEC who might be our second best RBTrey Smith is the best Guard is football, Cade Mays will be drafted in the first two rounds, Kennedy has valuable experience, Morris/Wright/Carvin all have NFL potiental and are starting to play like it. It is impossible UGA has more NFL talent in their front 7 when we have 5 guys with NFL talent on our line.
Then we have an experienced RB leading the league in rushing and a an NFL caliber back in Gray.
It is ignorant to say we won't be able to move the ball on the ground.
yup.We have to remember that it’s going to be difficult for Roman Harper to hide the dislike for Tennessee. He was a member of that 2005 Bama teamthat beat Fulmer and ended their drought against Tennessee. He was e player that punched the ball out to create the turnover that sealed the game. They hated Tennessee and Fulmer and there was a similar hate for Tennessee that we currently feel about Georgia. Let’s face it, if you’re in your 40’s and a a Tennessee fan, Georgia was a afterthought in my mind when we played them when I was a child and all the way up into college. It was Bama and Florida, Georgia felt like a South Carolina game to me.
I wonder what would make Pruitt want this one more than Florida or Bama? Recruiting purposes? Doesn’t like Kirby? Respect for Saban? Simply because it’s the next game on the schedule? Or he believes this team can win it, and wants this team to believe it, do it, and take the next step?On VQ podcast today, they said Pruitt wants to beat UGA more than any other team. You have to believe his players feel the same way and will leave it all out on the field. Sometimes you just gotta want it more.
Maybe because it's first of the 3 big games.I wonder what would make Pruitt want this one more than Florida or Bama? Recruiting purposes? Doesn’t like Kirby? Respect for Saban? Simply because it’s the next game on the schedule? Or he believes this team can win it, and wants this team to believe it, do it, and take the next step?
Probably a mixture of several of the things you said.I wonder what would make Pruitt want this one more than Florida or Bama? Recruiting purposes? Doesn’t like Kirby? Respect for Saban?
