I don't know if that is a good thing or not..I hope it doesn't cause the teams butthole to pucker up.
Fulmer hated Bama with a similar, if not identical, fashion that JP hates UGA...and it worked out quite nicely for Fulmer.

Biggest difference is that Fulmer didn't have to build the roster the way JP has...

I think this could be the year rubber meets the road for JP.

Can our OL win more individual battles than it loses against the UGA DL? On run plays, can the OL get to the 2nd level and get bodies on the UGA LBs, keeping them from plugging gaps? On pass plays, can the OL force UGA to blitz its LBs in order to get pressure on JG?

If the OL can get to the 2nd level regularly and put bodies on LBs, the run game can be successful. If not...
If the OL can block well enough to force UGA to bring LBs, the pass game can be successful. If not...

Same is true when UGA has the ball. Can our DL keep the UGA OL off our LBs? Can our DL put enough pressure on the UGA OL so that Pruitt/Ansley have the luxury of bringing a blitz when they choose to, not out of necessity? If they can, the D can limit greatly what UGA wants to do. If not...

Josh Pate pretty much said what I said; if the D plays really well then I think 24-27 points can win the game. And it doesn't matter where the points come from; kickoff or punt returns, TOs, offense, whatever. If the D plays well and we can win the field position game we have a real chance and if we can at least sustain drives enough that we aren't punting from inside our own 30 all game. If not...

Sheā€™s got a point....

Oooh, burn.

JP is at least two more classes from squaring toe to toe talent across the board with Kirby...at least at the rate he has been recruiting...at some point we have to start getting more top 50 front seven defensive talent, especially along the DL to really close that gap for good.

That is not a gripe, just a reality. We are great at getting the most out of solid players with this staff, but if the other guy is also great at getting the most out of NFL talent...you are going to lose most of the time.

This right here. Also, I donā€™t know if you guys have noticed but have we even thrown a slant? I think Velus gets a slant pass for a massive gain on Saturday. I also havenā€™t seen a single defender keep up with Hyatt yet.
Thatā€™s one reason I feel like weā€™ve played vanilla on both sides of the ball. We didnā€™t really blitz vs Missouri.

Your comparison has one big flaw. Todayā€™s Georgia is Way better than Fulmers Bama.

I wasn't making an inference the we're as talented, only that we're finally talented enough to compete and have those tangible aspects of the game POTENTIALLY play in our favor.

i just want a good competitive game tbh. I donā€™t want to see another 3td loss for a big rival.
If we want to recruit more top players, we can't lay an egg this weekend. We don't have to win, but we can't go down there and get embarrassed if we expect to land Mims, Mondon, Nyland etc.

I have nightmares of us getting blown out, carrying a hangover into UK and losing that one, and then getting blown out by Bama and the season going completely off the rails. BVS is real. I know Pruitt ainā€™t Butch or Dooley, but still, Iā€™m in ā€œsee it to believe itā€ mode.

This guy does a great job breaking down games. I haven't followed him enough to know how accurate he is, but he presents games in a very interesting way.
I like that when he's wrong, he addresses it head on. He picked us to win, but Missouri to cover last week. When we blew the model out of the water, he spent a solid 2-3 minutes acknowledging it.

Not happening. This team is different. Those days are over. We may not win, but we will show up. If we lose to UGA, our team will be pissed and take that in to UK.

We might be able to hang with UGA for a few quarters, but their depth and talent is much superior to ours. We would have to dominate convincingly because they will get a very favorable whistle against us. Just wait until you see the first screwjob call from the refs and youā€™ll know. The SECs goal is for them to remain undefeated until Alabama so they get a huge top 3 matchup next week with all the associated ratings and coverage.

Was just about to post something along this lines.
Lots of talk this week on tv and radio about this game and Vols taking the next step. Absolutely cannot SH!t the bed this weekend!

Auburn is currently experiencing the effects of their blowout loss. One 5* CB now projected to Bama (all Auburn in the summer) and a 4* WDE is now delaying his commitment (thought of as Auburn lean).

Dang. Wish they'd consider us. That's the strangest thing about Pruitt's recruiting so far. We can't land a 5 star corner. We have the two best DB coaches in college football and we can't land an elite corner. Makes no sense.
