While I don't think we have near the right/quality personnel to run it like that - for instance RBs to take on heavy boxes like Henry can or good TEs - a version of it is sort of what Helton did. Our running suffered for it some, but it allowed some nice downfield shots.I still wish our offensive strategy would be to run the ball to setup play action passes. Similar to the Tennessee Titans. Use Fant more. Have a few WR screens and flaring out the RB’s for short passes. Then do what JG does best and take some WR shots down the field outside the numbers to loosen up the defense from putting more in the box to stop these runs and short passes.
His first three years we had the worst OL in the state of GA. He got hit every single play. It's why he got injured twice, he would get obliterated playing these 5*s he would go against in games with our 225 lb right tackle. We finally had a decent OL his SR year and he threw for 50tds, still playing a top 5 high school football schedule.Maybe
The point is with all those weapons in HS he had it pretty easy. I’d rather see a QB that made everyone around him better than they really are coming out of Hs
We were the only other school he visited and he committed to MSU early (June 2019). Visited Tennessee in October. Michigan State was his only P5 offer, and it seems he was pretty committed to them the whole way.Ricky White, Harrison Bailey's WR at Marietta just put up 196 yds receiving in his first game ever for Michigan State. Why did we not offer him? I knew he was good from watching him at Marietta.
