Kentucky shortens the game by running. That’s there MO. When we gave them 17 points off our turnovers, it was over unless the defense held them scoreless. I didn’t watch the game, but if the defense did truly quit then that was the game. Like someone said early, that loss at the end of the season may look worse. Of course Missouri and USCjr may be saying they same thing about us unless we turn this around down the stretch.

UK plays a very boring style, buts its smart with their talent level.

In contrast we play against Bama last week, whom we all know has one hell of an offense, and our dumbass coaching plan is to run no huddle hurray up. So dumb
I mean I understand it Bama has historically struggled against the hurry up, Ole Miss gave them first and UGA did a little bit earlier this year. You've got a better shot of beating Bama going fast and turning it into backyard football then you do going slow unless you have the horses they do.

I’ve never been a fan of the hurry up but it’s clear we want to do it.

i just want us to wait until we get one first down to do it so the defense isn’t put back on the first after 20 seconds of clock has been run.

I still wish our offensive strategy would be to run the ball to setup play action passes. Similar to the Tennessee Titans. Use Fant more. Have a few WR screens and flaring out the RB’s for short passes. Then do what JG does best and take some WR shots down the field outside the numbers to loosen up the defense from putting more in the box to stop these runs and short passes.

Now this I like. Butch did it a lot and its one thing he did that was smart.
Honest question, who was the last slow plodding pro style offense that beat Bama? Im thinking USC in 10?

I don’t even know what’s pro style and what’s spread anymore to be honest. I used to the think the zone read meant you were spread but now it all meshes together to me

It’s the correct plan if you have the QB to do it. We don’t. I have always cringed when we went hurry up with Jg. It’s failure waiting to happen. It’s awkward and he can’t complete easy quick passes that move chains. Would work better with a Maurer like it was working before Bama took him out last yr
