Nice. I had watched the All Or Nothing series on the Spurs and Manchester City and this Leeds series was next on my list. Just watched episode 1 tonight and so far so good. Hadn’t heard of the Sunderland series I’ll have to add that one to the list.

Boosters give a lot of money. Millions and you want to cut them off. It doesn’t all go to football.

From what I'm reading the problem is they give bad opinions not money. All these smaller schools with far less income could teach us a lot about getting ones that actually get off their butts to give real money as opposed to say donating a ton to have your named slapped on everything, including the music building without so much as a nod to Dr. Julian. They, the little brothers of the West and many of the East are able to fire and make hires, sometimes after only a year. ;-)

Right - fans misunderstand the relationship.

No one booster ever comes in and writes a check to fire x coach or hire y coach.

Boosters provide steady yearly donations. Some of that money is used for coaching salary, but most of it is facility management.

Trust me, I don't misunderstand a thing about the relationship. There's a ton of irony that's not being picked up along with some harsh truths.

FL fired Shark Boy in his 3rd season to get Mullen - looking very smart.
UGA fired Mr. 10-Wins Richt to get the guy they wanted - made NC game already.
BAMA fired Shula after 3 years for Saban.
Matt Luke was kicked to the curb by his Alma Mater because they didn’t want to miss out on Kiffin.

Coaches don’t always get a fair shake. It’s a matter of doing what needs to be done in order get where you want to be. Requirement #1 though - UT has to actually want to be a top football school.

Arkansas ate an 11.9 million buyout to fire Chad Morris. That on top of the 12 million buyout they had just agreed to with Bielema. But we are told we can’t afford it despite being far larger and more profitable than Arkansas ever dreamt of being.

It can be done and it needs to be done.
