And those decisions were made before covid.

not sure why it’s hard for people to understand we are losing millions and millions of dollars this season

You don’t make decisions like these on a low year like covid just like you don’t on a good year. Assuming we will be at AT LEAST half capacity to open the year next year (probably full capacity) there needs to be a lot of season tickets sold to be able to project the years revenue before the season even starts. Pruitt finishing 3-7 or 2-8 god forbid is not selling those tickets at the rate you want. But any virtually new coach especially someone like high will probably 1.5x or maybe double what you would get pre season with Pruitt. Once you get that Ut will begin thinking of other ways like concerts for example to get that projection back up to have a steady increase over the next 3-5 years. You’re not going to make up the covid loss in one year but you can set a projection model that will get you there.

I get that. So why did it not apply to Clemson and Bama? To my knowledge, no other players or coaches had to sit out.

Perhaps a better job of keeping players separate in meeting rooms and such. The cdc rule of 15min together Makes “exposure” easier to deny if one wants to do so.

but yea it’s all very hard to explain

Because it’s Clemson and Bama, they need to make money during this year and those two teams are the only two capabale of really making money during new this season since they always make it to the Ship. Might as well not penalize your two golden trophies

Did we ever get an understanding why TAMU was able to cancel the game? I understood them as only missing 12 guys.

I know the sec had guidelines for when a game could postponed and it wasn’t just the overall number available it includes number of specific position groups. I assume these 12 were mostly one specific position group.

Right now all is well. CJP is on a luke warm seat, but not in jeopardy of losing his job. The thing that helps the players is that CJP sat down and told them we will be better but we'll also have some tough moments. He also explained that while the talent has been upgraded, its also very young. Personally based on the fact that they wouldn't allow Saban to hire him as support staff nor CJP to hire him as OC, would they allow him to be hired as HC. SEC is pretty stern about their decisions and stick with them.
Booooooo

The Waltons really don’t involve themselves in sports the way you’d expect. They are more interested in building things like Crystal Bridges (an enormous art museum where many works were acquired in really crappy ways) and building up NW Arkansas. Also like the Haslams they’re more interested in putting their name on things.
How about Tyson or JB Hunt?

I have a legit source in the medical area of Bama athletics and it's no coincidence that Bama hasn't had really any issues with large number of players testing positive, and of course we all saw the BS with Saban... they are covering things up and lying their asses off... and since it's Bama, folks look the other way. They'll say a few here and there, just so it doesn't look too obvious, but they are covering up things big time. UA has been one of the worst schools in the SEC for students testing positive this fall, but yet on the same campus none if any football players are testing positive?

Now that's not to say other programs including ours are not doing the same thing to a degree, but isn't it crazy how few Bama players have been reported positive...

So JP tried to hire freeze as OC and it was blocked by sec?

We’re gonna try and pull some rabbits out of the hat late. And may even throw in one or two flip surprises if the stars align properly.

Sounds awesome, and we desperately need it, but I will be shocked if we pull anymore high-tier recruits this cycle based on the season... what on earth could be the message we are selling that a kid would buy? The new young talent is clearly not being given a shot at playing, and we are clearly regressing as a team and not properly developing the talent we already have... Oh well, fingers crossed, I am just hoping we can hold on to what we currently have!

Bagmen, errrrrrr I mean random cash drops and new cars speak very loudly to recruits. Just ask Saban.

Thanks for the info--- I would have to think by now though, that he would be allowed back in the SEC as at least a coordinator of some sort. It's been several years now including once this season ends, so I am still hoping there's a 15% chance we could pull him as OC because the current blooming onion doughnut sitting in the booth is lost in about 2003 and is being out coached every game and not adapting the play book to fit the talent we have. Themz facts we can all see.
