they had a good point on the pod cast...if they were losing the team, yould probalby of seen more guys start to opt out by now...that' snot happening.

Shamburger has walked the line of being in/out of the dog house for ~2 years now. that's probalby not a referendum on the roster's attitude............................................
I disagree. We’ve played six games. Players are still wait and see mode. Plus most will wait until after the season to transfer.

If it's grades, as has been speculated, then this has nothing to do with giving up on the staff. That's just being a moron and throwing away a free education. These kids have free tutors and all kinds of academic help. So if it's grades, that's 100% on him.

Wouldn’t go to class

they can opt out right now due to covid and it be totally on the up and up. and if you, as a player, or group of players, are out....i think on the heels of a 4 game losing streak, and games getting postponed...........now would be a great time for everyone to throw their hands up and say "we're done w/dis ish".

and it aint' happening....Shamburger, is basically being dismissed.....not the same thing.

I think Jake is referring to the fact that we haven't had a bunch of guys opt out of the season, or leave the team to prepare for NFL aspirations like several other schools have. And it's not uncommon any more to see kids transfer mid season if they're fed up. We'll see I guess, but it would appear that most of the team is still 'bought in' regardless of the lack of success we've seen this year.

Academics, discipline, attitude and want-to with Sham. It was one thing after another for a long time. Shame for him, but it doesn't matter much for UT-- getting young talent in the game and building for the future is the mantra for the rest of this season. If there is a rest of the season. The air has really gone out of the balloon.
Our program’s more of a whoopee cushion than a balloon these days.

I kind of hope the season is cancelled. I bet we ink a top ten class for sure then. I’m afraid if we keep losing it could start effecting our class.

I just wish our mantra would have started at the beginning of the season :(

It's easy, remember in the immortal words of Martin Riggs, I do not give a f***.

You can't control anything, but, you. You control nothing, but, your attitude and your effort and your daily choices. Concentrate on that, block all the world out. Simple and stress free.

You can't change anything or anyone, but, you do control you and your choices and how and where you direct your energy and efforts both mental and emotional. Screw everyone, get what you need that makes you comfortable and secure and know need versus want, and live in your bubble and void of all things external.

Yes, the world is crappy, always been that way. But, there is and are good things and great things so find those and concentrate on them and find your bliss McGill :)
And I thought Norman Vincent Peale was deceased.

The only player who might stop playing to go to the NFL is Trey. But I bet he knows that he needs to show he can play since his illness. No one else is a high draft pick and would have no reason to sit out to train. Maybe Cade? And this is a free year of eligibility so I don’t think you see as many transfer mid season. Most will happen after the season. Now, I don’t think the team has given up on Pruitt yet but I wouldn’t be shocked if more started to if we keep losing.

If Sham isn’t going to class and is starting to be a cancer, he needs to be gone. I’m saying don’t be surprised to see a few more gone at seasons end. That’s all. And I don’t think most would be missed that do leave.

It may be headed that way. I was reading last night that there is the possibility of pushing playoffs and Championship back to February. They can't push it back forever, they may need to just shut it down.

Ivy League cancelled all winter sports.

It wouldn't be devastating to see the season cancelled. But game reps would be valuable for the young guys who'll be the nucleus of the team next year, even if they come with the expected FR mistakes. The older guys aren't stepping up to fill the leadership void. The younger guys are more likely to do that, once they take a more active role.

We're already moving toward making the young guys the face of the program. A lot of it's for recruiting, but it's also for the locker room. Some guys are ready to move on. We're not seeing their best effort. So we're going to see and hear more from those who're all-in.
