Something everyone keeps complaining about is a “boring, unimaginative, non-exciting offense” and wanting a Briles/Kiffin-style offense, but you can’t make chicken salad from chicken $h**. Franks and Corral are currently much better and much more confident than anyone Tennessee has on the roster

If the QB (whoever it is) can’t properly execute something basic then what would motivate a coach to try something exotic??

We saw the blueprint they want for JG against Arky (and it was working until he got hurt) and it won’t surprise me if they do it next game too.
We were down 14-13 when JG went out and they took control of the game. Throwing 15 times and letting your defense get gassed will get you beat 8/10 times. It is a big reason we fall apart in the second half. And QB development is a big reason those QBs are better than ours. Our QBs are poorly coached.

I REALLY hope that HB has gotten up to speed these last couple of bye weeks and he’s got a good enough handle on things.

Tennessee doesn’t have to be GREAT to win the next two, but they need to be decent. Can HB limit the mistakes and run the offense effectively?
No excuse for Bailey not to be QB1 now. Season is done. Play for the future. Get him experience. He should know 40 plays. Just run those.

The best thing that could happen for the Vols this weekend is to play HB, let him throw and if nothing else, try new things and have some fun. Nobody at UT is having any fun, and this is not lost on recruits.

Last year, the SRs turned things around. This year, it's the young guys' turn. HB and Hyatt-- it starts there.

Yep. I think everyone will be out on Pruitt if we win three games continuing to play JG. Play Bailey and air it out. Fans can get behind the future. Plus, if you win a couple with Bailey, everyone calms down.

Seems like common sense. But does Pruitt not understand this? Is he that stubborn?

Hey @nicksjuzunk ,

I just finished my leg workout.
200 squats with a 65 lb. backpack on.
800 body weight squats.
I did 10 sets of 100 reps.
This is my first day for this workout. I will increase the reps with the backpack as I improve.

My HR max was 146. Would rest for a song between sets to let my HR slow down. Didn’t get below 100 bpm for the routine.

I am 58 now. I plan to do this every other day for 2 months. Upper body on the other days.

What do you think? Your opinion would be appreciated.
Hey doc,

Great job getting active!

I’ll give you a shout on email. Context of goals you are pursuing is always important in evaluating the plan so let’s take the discussion there

It's amazing how much resistance there is to this. It's not like anything else is working.

I think they know once the team sucks even more with HB, whatever veil of competence is left on the program comes crashing down.

Coaches love to sell potential. Love to have that card in the back pocket.

They hate to use it.

JG was in for one series in the second half and got hurt (Arky scored to go up after JG got hurt and Maurer came in the next drive).

But I will agree our QB’s aren’t developed or coached well at all, but is it because they’re bad coaches or the raw products aren’t much to work with?? Or both?

Best thing that can happen to UT is Pruitt is able to defensively out scheme Gus and Auburn (He has done it in the past) we get some turnovers and non traditional points. Pull out an ugly win. Follow it up by beating Vandy and then the season is cancelled for COVID concerns.

So there's really only one way to take AV's comment about the 21 class, right? All of you preaching patience how patient will you be when top commits begin dropping?
I just don't see how this has a good ending. Would like to be wrong..

I guess I read it differently through my rose-colored glasses. I took it to mean that some transfers at positions of need (QB, TE, pass rush OLB, DL??) will be replacing some of our 3* recruits before signing day. *fingers crossed*

JG is the most hated player in TN football history and it’s not close. We have dealt with his pathetic QB play for 3 1/2 seasons. Seems like a good tough guy, works hard, but his play on the field speaks for itself.
Yeah that is truth but it is an indictment of those people. The young man has been committed to his team, worked hard, been extremely tough. The people that hate him are pitiful. I wish we had a better QB to play so he didn't have to play. But that's not his fault. He is not a slacker. He just isn't good enough to play at this level.

I don't think that TPTB in the VOLS organization realize how fed up many of us in the fan base have gotten with the football program. I have been born and bred a fan of the VOLS since I was born--my grandfather walked my dad across the railroad tracks to watch the games. I am comparing this VOLS mess in hiring coaches to the baseball strike. They lost me-- I will watch the Braves in the championship--but I'm very meh about it. I found myself watching the VOLS against Arkansas with very little excitement. I enjoyed seeing the young QB come in, but I've lost my emotional investment the VOLS and college football in general. I hope it's just 2020, but talking to other people, I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way right now about this team's 12 year sh-t show.

12 years? It’s been a sh-t show longer than that.

We have three Elite 11 QBs on the roster, coached by a Heisman-winning QB, and we have no offense. Teams do a happy dance to have us on their schedule, and Vandy probably considers us their best shot at an SEC win. I think the illusion of competence has been shattered.

The only potential to sell are the young guys-- that's who recruits will look to. How this staff uses young talent, and how that young talent feels about the program and the future, influences recruiting. We're at a tipping point.

Let that sink in. Jfc

Three years of same coaching has led me to believe bad coaching. Many programs do much more with less. Hopefully, Weinke is gone shortly after signing day.

AV said things with the ‘21 class will be adjusting (”a much different look moving forward”).

Does that mean we move more towards a (incoming) transfer strategy due to the amount of pressure on CP next year? This would drive proactively letting go of some current commits.

Does that mean he anticipates ‘21 commits jumping ship forcing us to backfill with new recruits ??

Any ideas?
