I do think there's going to be a coaching search, just given the way this season is going to end, so my focus is there rather than on the prospect of keeping Pruitt and how we fix those issues.

I wonder if Fulmer would be more inclined to think he can hire a semi-big, established P5 head coach instead of going the G5 route.

If I remember correctly from 2017, he seemed to be going in this direction until Schiano-Sunday scared every potential head coach off.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Fulmer (both with Currie and without) talked to Doeren, Gundy, Brohm, Patterson and Fuente. Maybe I'm leaving a name or two off, but there's a clear type there. He targeted sitting head coaches of big programs.

Maybe that might tell us something about who he would call this time around. Names like: Chris Klieman, Bronco Mendenhall, PJ Fleck, maybe Jeff Brohm again, Tom Allen, Matt Campbell, Neal Brown, Geoff Collins, Satterfield, etc.

You could at least TRY talking to urban Meyer. I already know it, tho. They will pass on freeze because they are scared he will screw up again. Then freeze ends up at another school, and beats us every time we play him. I don't know why I'm a fan of the vols, at this point. They will hire another bad coach.

It’s our only chance at a win. Did we push for the cancel because we would be out players and might lose it or did we push for the cancel hoping it doesn’t get played so that we don’t lose period? All we did is set up UF to destroy us in two weeks

No problem, if he was somewhere else or a group of 5 job it wouldn't be as impressive as it is. But he's in the Big 12 (power 5) and has to deal with a "big brother" in state in a better position, yet he's still winning there. In year 2 he beat 2 top 5 teams (@OU and vs TCU).

He's a great coach and if he had a SEC level roster I think he could do some big things.

Another thing that's been interesting is he's raised the average recruit ranking by .02+ from where it was before he got there...doesn't seem like a lot, but to go from .82 ratings to .84/.85 every class is a pretty impressive move for where he's recruiting to.

The only thing standing in the way of Tennessee hiring Freeze is Tennessee.

What are they afraid of?

Hurting the reputation of the program? It’s probably as low as it’s ever been right now.

Freeze failing? We’ve been mired in failure for going on 15 years.

NCAA issues? They’re basically toothless anymore, and we’ve been on de facto self-imposed probation for a while now.

SEC approval? Maybe, but they don’t seem to be big fans of ours anyway.

This program is a ****ing joke. It's like they are trying to see how bad they can make it and then just rub it in the fans' faces.

Pruitt is done. I think he is fired this year. My list (if anyone cares):

1. Campbell
2. Freeze
3. Fickell
4. Fleck
5. Brohm
6. Caldwell
7. Napier

I believe any of these can get us to 8-9 wins consistently. And that is what we need is some consistency.

The more I read about Jamey Caldwell, the more I think is he is going to blow up soon. Everyone needs to tune in on December 5th when they play Liberty.

They are going to be missing quite a few when we play candy at the end of a lame duck season. Is there any reason for someone like trey smith to play that final useless game or get ready for the draft?

He should be. He would come here for sure. ....but he wont be. They won't hire him. I'll probably just stop watching Tennessee and become a fan of wherever freeze ends up. I've been loyal to the vols for 20 years. They don't Care ENOUGH about giving us a good product.

I honestly believe Tennessee has played it's last football game of the season. Vandy is pissed, this was supposed to be their senior day, parents had made travel plans etc.
