**UPDATE**

God answers prayer. All glory be to Him. This has proven to be a marathon, not a sprint. My niece is slowly improving each day, but continued fever spikes are coupled with intense pain responses to touch. The condition causes inflammation in all vital organs and arteries.

The doctors have given no definite timeline for discharge, but we are hoping she will be home by the end of the weekend. Please continue to pray for her healing, my brother and our family, and the attending physicians. Thank you all for the outpouring of love and continued prayers. God bless!

West Ga was on a really good run when those guys were there. They had a couple of D2 semi finals appearances. The HC at the time is now the OC for Tulane and has done a good job. They had 3 players drafted from that team. Daryl Dickey is the AD.
The Gulf South has had some coaches come through. Mike Leach was OC at Valdosta St, and Mumme was there too. Muschamp coached at West Ga. Mark Hudspeth and Terry Bowden were at North Alabama. Chadwell was at Delta St.
Was aware Dickey is the AD...posted that the other day. Main point in a fantasy scenario. How many of that staff would end up here? Pause for VN reaction. 😏

Everyone saying it’s a Red Flag on the coaches at what point is it a red flag for the University lol. Numerous coaches have been hired and failed..... you are telling me that all the sudden all these coaches have forgotten how to coach.... I don’t believe it. There are other issues at UT that we just aren’t privy to.
Conspiracy theory.

Kiffin coached fine his one year.

Dooley was never a good coach.

Butch was doing pretty good until he let the team quit working out and his false promises caught up to him. The culture Butch created was Butch’s downfall. Nothing on UT’s end.

Pruitt was a great DC. Completely unproven as a HC. He hasn’t forgotten how to coach defense, but it’s no longer his main responsibility as a HC.

If UT ever hires a big name and yet he still can’t get it done, then I’ll entertain the conspiracy theories. It could be a chicken or the egg thing, but that still doesn’t jive with the whole ‘coaches don’t just forget how to coach’ argument. We’ve never hired anyone that knows how to win and be a HC at an SEC program.

Here is a question I’ll pose to the board. Fulmer has a difficult line to toe.

1. He has to manage finances. We must face it. We don’t have a lot. But with fans not excited will anyone show next year? Would you lose 12-16 million anyway? of keep him then basically have no buyouts on books after next year.

2. How can he support his current coach while not hitching his wagon too much to him? If he does too much then he is gone.

All I know if Fulmer is praying we don’t lose to Vandy. (We all know that girl will hit from 45 to win as time expires)

I think this is exactly the problem. I’m not sure what exactly @Atlanta VOL speaks of when he says not everyone is on the same page, but somehow it affects the entire program including the ability of coaches to coach. Coach after coach comes in here and fails. The problems of this program extend much higher than the HC, IMO. And no, I’m not saying Pruitt should remain our HC. I doubt he succeeds. Just too many red flags. I sure hope he does though, because I think we are doomed for a very long time if he doesn’t.

Huge difference between coaching football and running a program, I don't believe Pruitt can do either. He's a position coach that has always benefited from having top notch talent

Me too!! If anyone wants us to lose to Vandy then they can turn in their Vol card. It shouldn’t take that to determine if a change needs to be made. I hope Pruitt can somehow figure this thing out, Bailey lights it up, we somehow beat Florida, A&M, or both, keep this recruiting class together, make a few necessary assistant coach changes, and get it right in 2021.

The bottom line comes down to what is acceptable at the University of Tennessee. There are a lot of losers who love losing in this fan base and in this board and give every excuse for retaining Pruitt.

Setting a standard for a coach if they go 2-8, 3-7, or 4-8 (in a normal year) that they won’t be coaching at Tennessee should not be controversial. Take that record to Mizzou, Vandy, or USCjr, but that doesn’t fly in Knoxville.

wait now. who is saying we should retain Pruitt?

I think many of us realize importance of supporting the program. Do my personal expectations have any impact on a decision I have 0 control over? I dont think so, at all.

I want Cornbread to turn it around but, think hes gonna have to make some changes. Def dont envy AD Fulmer.

I'm not a football guy, so maybe im out of line here. Why do you take a guy like Niedermeyer, with 0 LB coaching experience - and force him into that coaching role? We lost a coach to NFL. This isnt the b leagues. We have no Dline coach. Those are some legit criticisms that need fixing, iyam.

Tennessee has a loaded ‘22 class (for TN standards).

Simpson, Nolan, James, Hayden, Keaton, Horton etc

Missing is a dominant pass rusher or corner. Otherwise I like the in state class.
Means nothing if we’re unable to sign them. I hate to turn into catbone. Those players will be able to go to Clemson, ND, Bama and OSU.

Will it be more of the same where Middle TN kids arent from TN? Or, can we develop a core group of kids with relationships? Long way away.

The relationship aspect of it is the issue. Most of Volnation believes Pruitt is done next year. All of the coaches the kids will have a relationship with will be let go.

Niedermeyer’s experience coaching was at linebacker. He had zero experience on the offensive side. This time last year, the clamor from the fans and on here was to hire RECRUITERS. Going all in one way or the other is a bitter life lesson. Doubt Pruitt caved in but maybe it influenced his hiring process.
