Texas job is a little overrated. They've only won their conference 6 times in the last 40 years. Mack Brown only won it twice. In the same time OU has won their conference 18 times. Texas has only won the Big 12 three times, Baylor and K St have won it twice.

That being said I would still rather have Freeze, but Herman is far better than Pruitt and may be available.

That being said I would still rather have Freeze, but Herman is far better than Pruitt and may be available.

5 years ago Herman and Harbaugh looked like can’t miss hires. The coaching carousel moves fast.

It’s interesting that Herman’s 9-3 second season and step back at Houston may have been a red flag.

You’re literally in Texas. Best HS football in the nation in your own state, and the one next to you (Louisiana) puts out the most NFL players per capita. You have 5-6 5 stars a class in your home state. Plus a national brand school with practically unlimited funds in a major US city.

Any head coach that can’t win in Texas isn’t one worth a damn.

That being said, he was a great offensive coordinator at Ohio State and I’d be down for that all day.

Y’all really want another HC that’s too loyal to one QB?? Herman wouldn’t even try to recruit highly ranked QBs because of Elligher

And it goes to show you nobody is a can’t miss. You can add Frost and Kelly - all were coveted coaches (like Freeze). It’s why deciding to spend a ton of money is a hard decision and the people who have to make the decisions aren’t “idiots” like they are being called all over volnation.

Then sigh and restart and say "look we have no talent, need a total rebuild BLAH BLAH BLAH". For once we should take a shot while we're in range. Might just hit it.

While I do agree with this statement!..I still think Florida’s talent is #1 with Texas being #2

Thing is, you have to find someone worth “shooting” for and someone who will answer your call.

We called Chip Kelly last time. We made a dump truck offer to Mike Gundy.

People want us to be Alabama or Florida, but we just aren’t. There’s no version of Meyer or Saban for us. We’re going to have to strike gold.
