So if your offense gets first downs and doesn’t turn the ball over it doesn’t matter what the defense is doing you get more plays. It’s really simple math.
Completely agree with most of that. It was a bad fit, wouldn't have worked, just not a fit. Other than a Saban or Meyer, you just need a southerner in the SEC. I just think it would work better than Pruitt did, which isn't a high bar. I think you are severely underestimating the amount of people that truly believed Gruden was coming.Schiano would have been a horrible fit here. He isn't a good coach and was intern jones all over again. Would've been an awful hire. He never should have been interviewed much less have been the number 1 candidate. Very few people actually believed Gruden was legitimate.
