Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

Assuming for the moment that Pruitt will be gone and the reports about Boyd ultimately driving the decision on a new coach are correct, my questions are how active a role will Boyd take in the search process and interviews - will he take the lead or simply “participate”? Is it possible will we see Fulmer moved to a senior advisory role and a new AD announced before a candidate is hired?

I would think any interviewee may find it odd that to have the President and not the AD leading the charge, especially considering Fulmer’s high profile.

I don’t think there is anyway that yesterday’s report was coincidental. I think Tennessee is just trying to mitigate a buyout.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the Administration wants to hire Freeze and this will be used as justification to prevent fan backlash. Despite some outliers, Freeze is the overwhelming fan favorite.

I can’t fathom how anyone would not want Campbell. He is going toe to toe with the top programs in the Big 12 at Iowa State. Lol. That being said, I don’t see him leaving a P5 job that he built from the ground for Tennessee.

I think we land on Napier. We could do better, but we could also do worse. I also think Auburn lands Sark.

The fact that we haven’t heard something frightens me
I wouldn’t fret. Don’t fret until the search starts, because we’ll F that up. Again.

I don’t think they’ll fire him today bc of his grandfather’s funeral. I expect an announcement between Christmas and the New Year.

I have a feeling they are going to stall this a few days, fire Pruitt, then roll out their milk toast Coach quickly to prevent the fanbases’ Hire Freeze campaign.

I find it beyond depressing that we allegedly cheated, and still whiffed on countless high profile guys.

How tf are we potentially getting in trouble and uga/Clemson/ua aren’t.

Virtually every Alabama and uga 5 star instagrams a pic of their new charger or other high priced vehicle on NSD. Everyone and their mother knows Clemson uses a church to funnel money to players.

College football is retarded

Doug Matthews on top of things this morning. Said investigation must not be much since he could not find anything about it on ESPN or CBS Sports. He must have looked real hard and ignored it was on the bottom line crawl all night. Vols open football recruiting inquiry, sources say

Well that tells me the intel on Fulmer pushing to retain Pruitt is true. Unfortunate.

Given the above, here is how Boyd should involve Fulmer:

The funnier thing is we are going to get in trouble for a recruit that Georgia signed. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to wonder what did Georgia give him to sign him.

Though he's not my top choice, Freeze makes more sense than some of the other names mentioned. The problem is, we're looking to mitigate Pruitt's buyout because of sloppy cheating, and Freeze got fired from OM for, among other things, sloppy cheating. Is the admin gonna replace one sloppy cheater with another sloppy cheater? We need someone that can cheat without getting caught.

It’s really simple.
If you plan to play for the win anyway and you go for 2 the first TD

That way if you don’t make it you at least have a fall back option to get it into to OT. If you do make it you win the game on the next TD

It’s really very smart.
It is not a bad idea, if that is your plan. Using a timeout there was heinously stupid, however.
