Tennessee is a better job than Ole Miss. And I don't give a rat's a$$ if he did to Ole Miss what he did to use when his Dream Job came calling.

It sucks to be on the crap end of that whole thing, but if we got Kiffin after one year at Ole Miss, I would be so happy. He's not going to win big at Ole Miss. He may win over the historical averages but Ole Miss is never going to be a perennial contender. Not saying Tennessee is either, but we one coach away from being one and have the infrastructure (facilities, boosters, recruiting pipeline) to have sustained success.

Nah overrated HC. Just a glamour guy.

Gus is gonna be “mehlen” all over again isn’t it? 3 years from now we’ll be wanting a new coach and Gus will be winning wherever he is.

It doesn't matter who we hire because we'll be in the same mind set, in 3 years, if we haven't beaten Bama, Florida or Georgia.

He went toe to toe with 2 of the best coaches in the country at Tennessee and then like 6 people at his dream job said no and they offered him. We'd literally have no problem if someone did that where we got a coach.

He went 28-15 at sanctions ridden USC and everyone was dying for him to be fired only to watch Sark and Helton not make any major improvements outside of the Rose Bowl season 3.5 seasons after Kiffin and Sark's boozing.

Kiffin went to school with Saban and was easily the best OC in the country under Saban.

Now he was at FAU for 3 seasons where he won better than anything they have done in over a decade. I'm not sure why people would think he would need to stick around a Conference USA school once winning for longer than 3-4 years.......

Kiffin was projected to go 2-3 wins tops this season at best and was a fumble and rigged Auburn game away from winning 6 games this year. Anyone can see that Kiffin is still very creative and can run an offense that will hang points and compete in the SEC. Ole Miss' longest problem has always been defense. If he gets the defense even somewhat manageable, he could have Ole Miss rolling.

I think Kiffin back to Tennessee would actually be the best hire in theory because he is a prick enough to be cocky about rewriting the Lane Kiffin as Tennessee coach story. He also wants to beat the sh!t out of Saban. If Steele doesn't get the job at Auburn, Kiffin would be well on his way if he can hire him to run the defense at Ole Miss.


People who think Kiffin is the same coach as say 2009 - 2013 are cray cray. Kiffin has gained like 40 pounds. No way he still running shenanigans like he did early on in his career.

He lost two games here he should have won. He got run by Ole Miss and VT, he finished 7-6, and that 2009 class did not pan out well at all. When you combine all of that with the fact that he left us high and dry after one year, I hope he never darkens any of our doors again.

If Bob is correct we are going to see what kind of human Jeremy is. Does he make a deal or does he fight?

You make a deal. UT can wait forever and still pay out the full amount if they lose and it's no big deal to the institution as a whole. An individual with a family and a life can't afford to do that. He may think he wants to fight but just like with people making plea deals for crimes they didn't commit the state can keep your life on hold for years if you fight and you often win nothing if you do win. You lose a whole lot less if you bargain.

The thing with Kiffin is, it's just kind of an unknown tbh. One year at UT he won some games, put beatdowns on UGA and South Carolina. Should of beat Bama if he had a FG kicker worth a damn. But he also loss some complete head scratchers against UCLA and Ole Miss. Hell even that Auburn game was very underwhelming.

He kind of sucked at USC to be blunt, but he did have scholarship reductions nearly his whole time there.

FAU, rough year, then good year.

Ole Miss, offense really shined. It'll be interesting to see if he can get a DC to get that improved.
