Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

To summarize:

- as of right now, Pruitt will be back. Unless the investigation takes a significant turn for the worse. Also if you fire Pruitt, a lot of players leave.

- contrary to what people believe, UT wants to win at the highest level, but the answer is not as simple as the fans think. Because:

- no homerun coach wants to come here (Campbell and Peterson would be asked and say "no"). Gus would be an option. Chadwell, Napier might still be there in the future if Pruitt goes another year. Freeze is not an option because his record isn't that great, so the powers-that-be don't think he would be worth the NCAA risk. And that the SEC would not approve the hire anyways. Boyd, Fulmer, and some big boosters are very much against Freeze.

That's what he says, not me. So don't shoot the messenger.
That’s not true about the home run coaches, it’s not true about freeze.

We have the dumbest big boosters in the history of college football.
I mean seriously... it’s not even close.
They have destroyed this football program.
They make Auburn boosters look like nuclear scientists.
It’s a ******* embarrassment to this fanbase.
I’d rather have Turkey Man, or Steve from Lexington make the hire... at least I know they give a damn.
Hey Atlanta Vol, when they meet tomorrow night...
Text them my post, and tell them I said to, “kiss my a**.”
Our main boosters are (as far as I am aware, I’m only person on here not connected) the Haslams. At least as far as donating to the football side. It took them like 10 years to have a winning season, while owning the Browns. That’s all I need to see to know if they are who chooses the next coach, we are doomed. Unless one of them takes a few hits of acid one night, and gets cold and decides Freeze Was a sign by god. Even then I don’t trust him once the high wears off.

Have been checking back hourly hoping for some good news like most here. Obviously it’s an easy decision right? Decided to go through some of Deerparks posts from today and he really provides good information on the situation. Made this fan think a little more about the big picture, not just what I want to happen.

Wouldn't listen to that guy. Dude is carrying water for the university. Trying to convince they care about winning is the most absurd **** I've ever read lol

Pruitt will be back unless that investigation is super bad, firing Phil would be a horrible look and CPF knows that.

Also most fans do not care as much as we do. Most fans don't F5 the computer constantly to see if something has changed on a football forum. There will still be plenty of people in Neyland next year if Covid allows.

And 99% of you that are gone forever if Pruitt comes back will be typing your hearts out the minute something happens in game 1.

Lord willing, regardless of the coach, I'll be in section LL Row 16 seat 23 come September of next year. Go Vols.

It may be a waste of breath, but here is the phone number to the AD staff, (865)-974-1224. Might as well rant to them so they know our grievances instead of spewing them out here amongst ourselves. Hopefully, the message comes across to them.

How I picture the UTAD for the past decade...

Who gives a damn about looks? Phil needs to go at this point.

I think you should give the fan base more credit than that. Why show up for a program that clearly doesn’t care about winning or about the fans?

There will be record apathy and it will show up in the ticket sales of Pruitt is back.

UT is already a laughing stock of the SEC and around college football period. Cant look any worse than what they already do. The pathetic part for Fulmer is that he can get fired 2 times from the same university.

There’s no way Fulmer thinks Pruitt is going to work
He’s getting blown out every game
This. I don’t think Fulmer is being loyal to Pruitt because he’s his boy or whatnot. I also don’t think Fulmer is stupid. He can’t possibly believe that Pruitt is the answer here. There’s more going on here. I just don’t know what it is. I’m terrified of the option that Fulmer actually believes in Pruitt because the only way for that view to make any sense is for either Fulmer to have suddenly taken leave of his senses or our situation behind the scenes to be far worse than we can imagine and I’m pretty sure that Fulmer is sane and that given the miseries we’ve suffered we don’t lack for negative imaginings.

Either we’re interpreting something wrong or missing a key piece of information. Fulmer is carrying someone’s water but I don’t think it’s Pruitt’s. I also think his power to influence the situation is limited.

Hope so bud

Waking up and thinking about Fulmer’s comments from last night, I feel like I’ve been kicked in the crotch and laughed at.
That’s because we are actively being toyed with right now by someone with influence who has decided to spark an inferno beginning with the leak to Trey. There’s a reason a stool pigeon like him was chosen to disseminate it. He’s being used to play us and I believe that’s exactly what Rucker was calling out with his tweet regarding the toxic environment. Question is who is behind it and what’s their endgame?
