I think the collaboration and cooperation between the athletic side and the University side has been better. I think for the first time in a long while both the President and Chancellor understand the importance of football for the health and growth of the University.
My point in what I was saying today is that when things get rough or don't go well at Tennessee there are multiple voices and not just one voice.
Football team loses and you got political people expressing their coaching thoughts on who should be the coach and who shouldn't. During the last coaching search (where things were more divided) seemingly everyone expressed their opinion.
Tennessee has had at a battle among donors to be the top dog. And Tennessee has always been a place were people talk.
Right now, we know where Fulmer stands on Jeremy Pruitt. That's his football coach. But we don't know where the Chancellor or Randy Boyd is with Pruitt. Thus, unrest.
Every time you see it's not going to work, you lose just a little bit of heart. It's hard to be a VOLS football fan even for those of us who have been here our whole lives. We do have a really good basketball team, though. I'm sure there will be plenty of bandwagons for that bunch.Agreed. If your here now, your a fan. Only thing that can be debated is if your an optimist or pessimistic. There hasn't been a wagon to jump off of in 15 years. Ha
He talked about how beneficial it woul dbe a couple of weeks ago. Even sounded a little giddy about it. That's why I said yesterday that I was all for it if the players wanted it. I didn't want Pruitt forcing it on a bunch of kids that were over the season.Bet he doesn't want to, either. I think everybody is ready to get out of that facility and forget about UT football for the holidays. Plus... COVID.
The Vol Colonel purports to be a booster of some measure and has some inside information from time to time. As of yesterday, he was willing to put money on UT firing Pruitt, so if any of the doubters want to go make some extra scratch for Christmas gifts, have at him. He also thinks Malzahn is the likely target, but prefers Kiffin and Freeze personally.
The only way Pruitt is not here next year is if Fulmer is not either. He will have to be "forced" into retirement...maybe it happens. But I wouldn't put money on it.For a couple years we heard that TN had repaired its issues, leadership had improved, and everyone was pulling in the same direction. Now, when crap hits the fan, we hear again how leadership has been a mess etc. So which is it?

it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the liberty bowl got cancelled. if it doesn't, i'll watch...and hope the extra practice is good for the development of the team.Bet he doesn't want to, either.
