At this point I wouldn’t care if Pruitt walked by Freeze/Malzahn on his way off the podium. Get his ass out of Knoxville, aight?

Shrout has the potential to impact much like Branndon Stewart. Bottleneck in a QB competition is always tough.

We are NOTORIOUS for overrating the guys we have on the roster. Shrout will not thrive elsewhere. If guys aren’t good here, they rarely are good anywhere else.

Isn’t it crazy how things change so quickly and drastically? Three years ago, this board despised Haslam’s (and other “higher ups”) influence on the program, wanted rid of an incompetent AD and then rejoiced at the hiring of Fulmer and then celebrated that Fulmer picked “his guy” who was a renowned coordinator and recruiter.

Now, the board wants the higher ups in control and wants Fulmer and Pruitt out.

Just an observation.

Conclusion: Everyone with an ounce of money and power associated with UT football is incompetent, hence us being terrible for so long.

See, that's the thing. How many recruits will we lose out of Tennessee's class next year? And all the following years? Because JP doesn't have the backing in the administration or with fans anymore. Recruits know that. If they don't other coaches will make sure they do.They are not going to buy what he was selling anymore. So the only HOPE we had of even getting out of the basement of the east was to get a coach that would bring in some excitement or move to another conference.

That is one angle, but what if everything started coming up roses, and they actually become very good next season. It doesn't look likely at this point, but a lot can change between now and then. Then, we the fans have pored cold water on our beloved program. Either way, it just would have been nice if this had all happened, say today, instead of 10 days ago; but what do I know? I've only been following recruiting, and UT Football for about 50 years.

There is no doubt that I totally understand the thought process behind it. I am pretty fed up with bad football. I just buy into the possibility that we had some COVID-19 issues that were worse than some of our competition. It was really bad timing for this team - a perfect storm, if you will. Have bad decisions been made? Sure, but who knows if those bad decisions are a part of a larger pattern or simply one-time rock-and-hard place type of decisions.

I don't swim in these waters so this may be a normal practice, but it seems incredibly stupid to have one of your on the field coaches as one of your bagmen, rather than a random guy who owns a local car dealership, restaurant, etc.
If they'd ask and slip a few extra bills my way I'd be happy to run bagman duties for these guys.

Going to be lots of bandwagon Tennessee Basketball fans coming, if not here already.
