That’s the final nail in the coffin for UT football. Most other schools are win at all cost mentality. We are not. We are going to let Freeze go when we could have him announced tomorrow.
Let Fulmer try to keep this guy another year. Pruitt will fail, both will be fired, and new guy is willing to hire freeze

Who else has lost hope that we’ll actually upgrade if the choice is to move on from Pruitt? USCe and AU tried to get ahead of it and their searches are underwhelming.
They are looking for a coach who's going to let the administration have final say on his staff. Obviously when you are looking for a coach to micromanage from above the list is going to shrink.

I believe that the job at UT is more attractive than either AU or USC. I believe the upside potential for a new coach here is much greater.

do you have any indication of what Boyd and Plowman think?
also, can the University LOAN money to the department for buyouts and hirings?

There are mixed opinions on the loaning money part. So I'm not completely sure there. Lots of bylaws that are pretty confusing.

I think both Boyd and Plowman are unhappy with the results of the year and have some questions and concerns they probably want answers to.

As much as I was against firing Pruitt...keeping him on now is pure insanity. He won't make it halfway through the season unless a miracle happens...and we don't get miracles, we get whatever the opposite of miracles are.

It’s really insane, very few fans still want him here. It’s going to be a miserable year and border line impossible to recruit. I have been going to games for 30 years and if my son was good enough to have SEC offers, I would strongly advise him not to sign with this staff.

Do you guy's think Harrison Bailey could be our QB of the future if we get a decent coaching staff or are we depending on Salter to come in and immediately compete for a starting job?
Bailey is the type of QB who would throw for 5000 yards with an elite OC. He can make all the reads and has elite accuracy. The deep ball will come with time and chemistry. I don’t think Chaney is that OC. So, while I think Bailey is capable of elite status, I think he/we is/are limited by an above average OC.

Lol half the staff again. No way this man survives. Completely inept administration if Pruitt survives to coach us next year. If he is given another year, go ahead and pencil us in for another five year rebuild and that’s if we get the hire right.

This gump will have fired or lost close to 15 assistants in 3 years. When the hell are we going to start looking from the top down. Geez.

How can they think that much staff turnover will gel and have a successful season? Seems like hiring someone like Napier or Clark (or other likely candidates) and letting them bring their staff would lead to more success.
