It worked well for Derek Dooley and Butch Jones when they had to replace staff and coordinators! I'm sure it will work out fine for Jeremy Pruitt.
Don't forget Fulmer himself. This crap never works. Just wasting a year tanking the program into another "3-5 year rebuild because the last guy left the cupboard bare".

Bankrolling a clean slate would be a "get out of jail free" card.

Randy Boyd is far from stupid.

Fulmer doesn't have the authority to "block" firing Pruitt.
Are we seeing what happens with the investigation so we can get rid of both for less?

"The Boosters" are ready to bankroll a clean slate and Fulmer is blocking it? C'mon, guys.
You do realize that once boosters start running the ship, it's going into the ground. I'm not talking about football here. I'm talking about boosters running UT because that's where it will end up. At some point, what's to stop them from trying to run academics. There has to be one boss that everyone answers to and it can't be boosters.

Then you'll likely end up seeing more ridiculous spreads and blowouts where the No. 1 seed is a 24-pt favorite over the No. 8 seed or whatever.

I think college football isn't compatible with a playoff. It kills the prestige of the major bowl games. That's a big part of what made the sport special. Winning the Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl was an achievement. Now it's ho-hum unless they're tied into the playoff.
I am 100% against you and this old crappy argument about this. Once kids know they can compete for a NC somewhere other than 4-5 schools it will break up the jam.

It's been some time since we've had an update from "our insiders"

Fulmer believes Pruitt is a good coach and will it turn it around here. More importantly, thinks Pruitt's better than the current pool of coaches that are available.

Then Fulmer needs to go... yep I said it. How in the F with the sorry ass product he's put on the field the past couple of years can he think JP is better than current pool of coaches or that gump is magically "gonna turn it around" in year 4+ ?! I mean, let's get real here... The fact that this cornbread rode JG into dismantling the season should be enough... Yet this defensive genius had two former RB's playing LB instead of several 4* LB's who he clearly didn't develop well enough... And our Defense as a whole was pathetic most of the season and the worst performing secondary I've seen in 20yrs... But yeah, he's the guy, he's the one... Never mind the supposed elite recruiter that in yr 3 should be pulling in the big fish left and right... No.

What has JP shown in 3yrs that makes the Great Pumpkin think he's the guy to turn it around? He's got the worst record in the past 3 coaches... But yeah, he's the one... STFU Phil. You've coddled him and done more things for him than any other AD would and he still is failing miserably. This comes down to foolish pride... They both gotta go.

Sorry, but can you tell I'm getting tired of this dip 'ish line of thinking and BS we've been fed for 3yrs... WATCH GUMP, HE CLEARLY DOESN'T WANT TO BE HERE... OR HE HASN'T SHOWN ME 'ISH THAT HE DOES.

Fulmer does not have unilateral authority to block others from firing Pruitt.

But he is playing the political game well and has enough pull that it isn’t just him blocking.

If this was simple it would be done already. It’s very messy.

I would hire Freeze and make sure he gas a quality defensive staff, that would probably work better than anything else we try...since I will never get Matt Campbell..

On a side note...I don't understand why Texas doesn't offer that guy the kingdom. With the Longhorns massive resources he would absolutely murder it there imo.
My question was is there another option besides the Haslams?

This is getting boring folks...
The lack of clear, definitive communication for the UT leadership has repeatedly been a problem. Also, because we have nothing definitive about Pruitt staying, at the least his return is in question.

Wow, and these are suppose to be the 4 best teams :):). That's kinda like bringing a knife to a gun fight
Meh. Has more to do with Bama just being head and shoulders above everyone else. Bama beat A&M by 28 iirc. Although I don’t think ND is a top 4 team Bama would likely be favored close to that much vs just about everyone except Clemson and OSU. SEC champ game was 17 I believe

Fulmer talked on Sunday about the bowl game being an early start to Spring practice for Pruitt. What else could that possibly mean if not that he is staying?
