Fulmer does not have unilateral authority to block others from firing Pruitt.

The Bowl Game was turned down. Just like Pruitt's next season as a VOL.

That's my whole point. The gap keeps widening. Yes, there would be bad matchups to begin with, but at least more players would be willing to go to more schools than 3 or 4 if they thought there was a chance.

I am 100% against you and this old crappy argument about this. Once kids know they can compete for a NC somewhere other than 4-5 schools it will break up the jam.

No, because the lower seeds will still get pummeled. No one cares about the two teams that lose in the first round and we're already at only 4 teams. Getting blown out as the 5th-8th seed won't impress anyone either. Then it further waters down the postseason.

Let me be really precise and simple so perhaps you can understand.

UT has policies. The AD is not exempt from these policies and answers to those above him. He does not have the unilateral authority to block firing the HC. He has several bosses. Those bosses do not defer to him. They can, in fact, override him or act to remove him from his position.

So the AD is not mandating what his bosses-- or the University of Tennessee-- can or cannot do. The AD has opinions and expresses those opinions. He does not make decisions with these financial implications as a committee of one. He doesn't "block" anything the Chancellor or President want to do.

The AD doesn't have the authority to make deals at this level without his boss's signature. That is also policy.

I realize that someone like you would have no idea how UT is run. So maybe you should stick to things you actually know something about. I have no idea what that might be, but surely there's something.
