That crap about Phil spending 80% of his time in the football facilities explains a lot. He wants Pruitt here because Pruitt allows the meddling. He is Phil's lifeline to bigtime D1 football and Phil is likely smart enough to know that other coaches wouldn't put up with it.

Also explains his interest in Steele.

Merry Christmas eve-- Knoxville getting hit by snow?
We got 3" of snow in about 3 hours in Halls Crossroads (15 minutes North of Knoxville).

Our electricity is out but we're together, safe, and happy.

You all be kind to each other for the next day or so. It'll be alright.

Ok. But why is his word gospel around here?

It isn’t. He’s right sometimes and wrong sometimes. Judge the info as you will and draw your own conclusions.

Edit: that sounded more terse than I meant it to. I was trying to say that you should always take it with a grain of salt, and ask yourself if the info lines up with other stuff you hear, and if it makes sense under the circumstances.

I have been a TN fan since the early ‘70’s. The run in the ‘90’s was incredible. Fulmer being the coach that finally got us the national championship will be one of the reasons he will always be loved by most people. However, that does not make him a good AD or even a good person. It only means he was a successful coach. He may be hard to work for and he may be in way over his head as an AD.

I know who Atlanta Vol is. I bought tickets from him a few years ago. He is all about trying to get TN back to the top. The man does way more for the university than 99.99% of the people out there. Disagree with him if you want but don’t question his motives.

Unfortunately, my luck is just like TN’s luck. I bought tickets from AV to see my fist game in Neyland but I had a heart attack in the stands before the players even took the field. I didn’t even get to see them running through the T. That was probably my only chance to go to a game. My daughter thinks I am foolish for caring about a team that has been so bad for so long. Like most of you, I just want to see this team compete on Saturday. I don’t have the $$ to do anything about it so I just read here and hope for the best.

I hope to see TN good again but it may not happen. Until then, I will always cheer for my team and hope for better results next year. Hug your family members if you still have them and Merry Christmas to all of Volnation
My eyes might be leaking...
Hugs to you.

he did and when comparing stories post-hoc his experiences were next level. Hence the warning.

I've been there a bunch of times and I can tell you stories that I wouldn't tell my son :):). I still can't believe it stayed open as long as it did. The payoffs must have been pretty large for people to look the other way for so long.

No one's word should be taken as gospel on an anonymous message board. But AV is a good dude that has done good deeds for some on this board. People like Bruin are just always looking to tear others down. It's what he does. But by all means, believe whatever you want.

3 names to watch for offensive line coach according to Austin Price in no particular order.

1. Matt Moore - West Virginia
2. Ryan Pugh - Troy University
3. Jim Turner - Cincinnati Bengals

Granted this was an answer to a podcast question and not an indicator that Pruitt is indeed returning for a 4th season.
Doesn't the guy at west Virginia run the same kind of offense as Mike Leach?
