Bitch ass jones yucking it up on Bamas sideline as a glorified waitress surely made coaches on his ā€œstaffā€ happy. I mean come on, he didnā€™t even have a freaking role, wasnā€™t even the get back guy or anything. I wish nothing but complete failure for the rest of his coaching days.

Yep. Marrone would be a very hard sell to the fans. With Jamey, fans would latch on.

I donā€™t care about that. Win and the fans will come. The most important sales pitch for the future of UT football is that ā€˜22 in-state class. Fulmer and the Mayes Bros. seem to be the most important connection there, and I think Fulmer can sell the Mayes family on Marrone, they can sell Ty Simpson, and he can sell the rest of that class.

I think Chadwellā€™s offense will also be a tough sell
When pitching Simpson.

we know we'll lose some players, but, at this point well be so bad with i dont even care
We're probably gonna be bad for another year or two anyway.

In my heart of hearts I do think if Pruitt stays and won 7+ games, maybe picks up an upset, we could probably close the 22 class pretty well, and in 22, 23... We'd maybe look at this season as an unfortunate turn of events.

Problem is I can't say I'm confident in our ability to win like that next year... So I'm left not necessarily caring who the coach is at this point.

It'll be the 23 season before we're gonna know if this new direction is working or not no matter what we do.

Im just trying to figure out how:
1. Fulmer is going to get another chance to make a hire
2. How anyone in charge on the hill can sign off on hiring him as a HC, after the disaster Pruitt was.
(Assuming Pruitt get fired, which im still not completely convinced of)
Do you remember the events that transpired to get him in that job to begin with?

If it's Chadwell, has he ever worked with Steele before or is Fulmer going to build JC's staff for him?

If he was doing all that coaching for AL why were there not any schools wanting him to come be their their coach? Even just a position coach? Yes, he helped on the field, but he was not responsible for the positions. But he was well liked by the players.
According to people I have talked to he was doing what all analysts and quality control coaches do, he was coaching primarily with WRs. All teams do it, Chip Long did on field coaching at UT.

He did not want to go to be a position coach after being a head coach. Saban used us - that is the point. Everyone thinking he was a flunky for Saban are wrong. I think he did us wrong, but those thinking Saban did not use his knowledge and did not value his input do not understand Saban. He is no nonsense. He would not have let Butch stay there if he did not see the value.

Vol fans hatred of him clouds the reality that he has a good football mind for offense. He was insecure and paranoid at UT. He has his faults, but Saban had him on staff for his value and to screw us.
