Who knows though, maybe Tennessee made an effort to get him. Maybe the AD is just too dysfunctional for Jimbo. lol.

He was following orders that he mostly agreed with imo. Make a run at Mullen and if Florida inevitably goes with him, have your 1B sewn up and slipped by the “Insane Orange Posse” as quickly as possible...great plan!

Look at the depth chart from that 2013 team woof.

It was bad. D. Swafford was a walk on playing good minutes. Made a couple great plays but that guy wasn’t an SEC level player.

I remember thinking butch was a hell of a coach after 2013. If we don’t get absolutely robbed by the officials at the end of the Vandy game, we go bowling that season with a win over a top 5 team

I feel they were close to even in talent.... QB.... tennessee(both good college QBs)..... RB.... huge Tennessee although people miss had good rbs.... WR/TE... This has to be a sure thing hire, and Freeze is the only possibility for that, which they inexplicably refuse to explore. Now, it’s all back to taking another chance.

You have previously fired coaches who may be about to do it.... Marrone, Gus, Herman... the floor is probably consistent bowl games, with unknown ceiling

Then you have unproven lower level coaches like Chadwell who have the low floor high ceiling. I think I’m firmly ready to roll the dice and possibly fail with Chadwell

It needs to be Freeze. There is no other answer. The powers that be have no idea how much credit they’ve burned with the fanbase. If they go with Freeze and he fails we will accept that but if they hire mcgoogke and he fails they are gonna finally lose a lot of fans that won’t show up until they figure it out. I don’t think they can take support for granted if this next hire fails.

We all made the mistake of thinking that since Murray/Pollack are biased, that anything they said about Pruitt or Tennessee wasn't true.

They of course are biased, and were motivated to say what they said because of that bias, but it didn't mean that they were wrong.

You do realize who was on Urb's defensive staff for 3 years at OSU and worked to stop his offense everyday, right?

This doesn't even taken into consideration the likelihood of college coaches having massive success in the NFL is REALLY small....as in Pete Carroll with Chip Kelly having a bit of initial success being it.
