I think murrray was saying that Bc of his personality. Not that he didn’t know football.

Almost every coach at this level is going to "know football." I'm just saying that when fanbases bash other teams coaches, it's almost always some kind of personality-based criticism. Saban is an arrogant cheater, Dabo is a phony, and the like. And they only say those things about the great coaches. Nobody really bashed Butch or Dooley except Tennessee fans.

You never know. Pollack/Murray's bashing of the Pruitt hire could have been construed at the time as them being concerned he could turn Tennessee around. In any kind of competitive enterprise, people don't really hate on someone who they don't deem to be a threat.

IMO, one of the worst things a rival can say about your new head coach is "Hey, I think that's a great hire for you guys." How many times did we hear Bammers say that about Pruitt? It's because they weren't worried about him. I want our rivals to hate and bash our coach.

Richt is a good guy, though. I just can’t believe no one called him and asked about Pruitt. If they did, what in the world did he say. There were witnesses.

Knowing Richt, even if somebody did call him, I bet he wouldn't have said a bad word about Pruitt. Just the kind of guy that he is. He wouldn't want to derail another coach's chance at getting a big job.

Mark Richt is too nice a man and too good of a person to be a great coach at that level. And I mean that as the highest compliment to him. To be great in this business, you have to have an edge to you in some form or fashion, and the game/job has to absolutely consume you and be the most important thing in your life. Richt doesn't have that.

Where is the UT bar up there? Remember walking around Wicker Park on a gameday and accidentally stumbling into a UGA bar. Immediately turned around and walked out.

Wrigleyville was always hopping with a bunch of recent grad Big Ten toe heads.

Everything I’m hearing from rivals is they would hate for Freeze to come here because he would kill it. They couldn’t give two sh*ts if we hired any of these other names. It’s not the only gauge but it sure says a lot. I know... It’s not gonna be Freeze so I’ll sit back and watch the train continue to fall off the rails even after this next botched hire.

I would think he'd upgrade. I imagine Texas strippers would be more attractive than Bama strippers, unless of course you find the lack of teeth attractive. Hopefully he gets custody of the monkey.
