You know what, I have to admit it's pretty impressive and feels good that Pruitt is working so hard to keep this job. I didn't expect that. I expected him to fold, settle, and go to Texas or Bama.

Instead he's actively fighting for transfers and his players. He's fighting the investigation. He's acting (from what I can see) like he actually really wants this.

That's really refreshing TBH.

I want JP gone as much as the next guy, but it is admirable to see he's doing everything he can to right the ship.

The people who claimed Pruitt wanted out are just as wrong as the ones claiming he is fired.

Yes, he is still going to be terminated. I suspect that trying to salvage the roster is tied to a concession that the university made in relation to his buy-out. Probably a condition of the proposed settlement and I also expect that him doing this was necessary for UT's internal investigation report to not implicate him as directly so as to help him be able to coach next year. Remember what everyone has said that has information, if both parties go scorched earth, that's not good for anyone. I suspect this is part of a tentative agreement to prevent scorched earth on either side.

Pruitt helps salvage the roster (easier now that "free" transfers are likely off the table for another year) and in return he gets a larger settlement and less blame in the report that goes to the NCAA. $$ and marketability are pretty good motivators, even for Beldar Cornbread.

So, the word is that he does in fact like Pruitt but he doesn't believe he's getting developed enough to reach is dreams of play professional football. Paraphrasing

This decision is coming over his head and in the meantime he is working like he's going to be here in 2021. I also happen to believe he knows all these guys deciding to transfer doesn't help his argument for staying.

No idea if he's fired or not, but I think you are right that this trip is not definitive either way. If Henry T really is waiting to see if Pruitt is going to be fired, an official statement from the AD saying that the internal investigation is completed and Pruitt is being retained is going to be more convincing than Pruitt in his living room.

And if that really is the case, and Pruitt knows he's coming back, you can expect a press release from the AD in minutes not hours.

Then again, expecting the AD to do things that make any sense is like expecting fish to fly sometimes.

We went to Mesa Verde NP and Anasazi Indian ruins Utah State Park in Boulder Utah on our trip last summer. We also saw some petroglyph panels in Capitol Reef and Arches NP.

I really love archeology and history myself, and if my life had taken a different path in my teenage years, those two things were what I wanted to study in college.

He has never been going anywhere. This is all a social media whirlwind. They are looking into violations, but this has taken in a life of it’s own. Fulmer is dug in.

No, not getting Deandre Johnson mixed up with Bennett. Actually could have mentioned Brandon Johnson too, although with the emergence of Hyatt he might have been lost in the shuffle anyway.

Kivon, whether if he was transferring, going to the NFL, or sitting in a jail cell, isn't going to be here next year regardless. He was a productive player for us last year when he was playing.

I dont disagree that Kevon was productive for us, but surely you weren't counting on him playing right?

He's fighting not to be fired for cause. And let's be honest here, the only way he was ever getting fired from day 1 was for no buyout or a reduced buyout.

Because our AD is full of incompetent fools.

I believe he hasn't been told anything definate. He has to work as if he will be HBC next year. Because he might be. To do anything else would be malpractice. The attorneys are writing up their report and Plowman will take the info and make a decision one way or the other. I think folks in the know "insiders" look at the situation and are prognosticating based on history and experience. IF he is still here come Monday morning, then it's a done deal.

Why are you getting hung up on only guys who were going to play next year?

My point is that several guys that we had from last year's team, which already sucked to begin with, won't be back next year. Regardless of the reason. We're losing a bunch of people off a team that already sucked.
