First and foremost, I support the Tennessee Volunteers in all sports, no matter who the coach is or will be.. In saying that, for me personally and clearly just my opinion, I don't believe Coach Pruitt will get the job done at Tennessee. What does it mean to me in saying that I don't believe he can get the job done, it means the following: I don't believe Coach Pruitt will ever lead Tennessee to victories over Alabama, Georgia or Florida.. I don't believe a Tennessee Football team with Coach Pruitt at the helm will ever win the SEC East or the SEC Championship, or go to the playoffs with a chance for a National Championship, and in the end for me that is what matters... Winning... The way I view it, and I have said this before, the very best Coach Pruitt can do as the head coach of the Vols will be 8-4 during a full 12 game regular season.
In saying the above, I believe it's pretty clear that Coach Pruitt will return for the 2021 season, and that's fine, I will still and always will support Tennessee no matter what, but 2021 is going to be a challenging season for Tennessee Football, and there will be many 50/50 games, except for the three automatic losses to Bama, Dawgs and Gators... The only sure wins, as I view it, are Vandy, South Alabama, Bowling Green and whomever the other FCS team will be on the schedule.. All the other games are truly toss up games... I never thought it would get so bad, but here we are.. It isn't all Pruitt's fault, where we are now is a culmination of bad coaching hires, and in my opinion Pruitt is another bad hire. Honestly, I hope I'm wrong and I don't mind eating some crow, cause that means UT will have turned it around, but it's going to be an uphill battle just to go 6-6 in 2021. In the end, my opinion is no better than anyone else, and I will keep watching, hoping for the best and pulling for the VOLS to win every game, and I sincerely hope and pray that Tennessee will find success once again. GO VOLS!
