If UT decides to actually walk off the cliff with Pruitt, I genuinely feel bad for the kids stuck working in the Tennessee Fund office, and people like Amanda and Ryleigh on the ticket side.

I do wonder if they’ve done any modeling on how much they expect to lose if they go through with it. It will be an absolute blood bath...

What other choices do we have? I don’t think he is a good HC but you still have to hope they can turn it around.
Or we could just go over and over every play and every call and every turnover and everything that went wrong the last three years so we would be miserable enough to make some people happy. Oh, I forgot every press conference.

You flying private to go pick up Gary Patterson? Or Mike McCarthy? 👀

Offensively,
- Averaged 21.5 points per game.
- Converted 30% of 3rd downs.
- Averaged 3.8 yards per rush (includes QB sacks).
- Averaged 346 yards per game (205 passing and 142 rushing).
- Turnover differential of -5.
- Offensive Pass EPA (estimated points added) ranked 93rd.
- Offensive Run EPA ranked 45th.

Defensively,
- Allowed 30.1 points per game.
- Opposing offenses converted nearly 48% of 3rd downs.
- Allowed 408 yards per game (266 passing and 142 rushing).
- Defensive Pass EPA ranked 104th.
- Defensive Run EPA ranked 50th.

An upgrade at QB is needed. But unless we get a superstar we have a lot more issues to fix than just QB to be competitive. Just my opinion.

Does the 30.1 include the multiple pick six tds thrown by JG?

Update. It does. The defense gave up 26.6 points per game last year. I believe there were five defensive touchdowns scored against UT this past year.

26.6 in today’s game is pretty good. No counting how many times this year we had back to back three and outs or terrible turnovers that cost us a ton of rest time on defense.

Since it looks like Pruitt is staying. Will he get this year and next to be HC? He's hiring a new coach for almost every position, on 2 year contracts. Im 90% sure JP will fail this season, hes shown me nothing that he will work out.

So we know Friend is out. Sounds like Tee and Weinke will be out as well. No mention of Graham, so I hope that means he stays. I like Jay. And Maybe Osovet stays?? Wonder if he could get moved to WRs? He's coached the position before. Hopefully Chaney pulls his head out of his sphincter and makes the offense more interesting this year. Wish he would collaborate with Coach Osovet.

If Garner is getting hired, I hope it's soon. It'd be nice to know if Ansley is staying or going.

We're basically rebuilding the entire staff. If he fails this season, we are so screwed.
Tee not headed to Barn
Auburn: Troy wide receivers coach Cornelius Williams has been named the new receivers coach on Bryan Harsin’s staff.

I’m amazed that some of you are talking yourselves into Pruitt again.
Never. I will think Pruitt sucks and I will talk **** about his coaching ability unless he ges the QB position right, shores the defense up, brings his offense out of the silent film era and wins at LEAST 8 games.
Then I would probably think he is learning from his mistakes and trying to adapt and fix the issues.
I LOL loud as hell everytime I consider the possibility of him ACTUALLY doing any of that, tho.

I feel like there needs to be a lot of context placed into this.

2018 - coming off a 4-8 Season where Butch Jones was fired and lost every single SEC game. First year of the early signing period where Pruitt was hired days before the signing period and was still coaching at Alabama.

2019 - Jeremy Pruitts first true Recruiting class

2020 - COVID happened.

I am neutral on the fire/keep decision. Basically for two reasons, 1) unusual circumstances this past season that all teams faced and 2) no confidence that a "splash" hire will be made to expedite success on the field.

If JP is retained, I definitely think he should be on notice and expectations should be high. The talent is there and the formula for success can be found by studying some other programs. Ultimately, the successful ones are those coaches that adapt and adjust their coaching styles based on talent, trending X and O philosophies, etc. Can/will he do that...🤔?

Regardless, I am looking forward to the post-JG era. I think the kid gave his all for UT and I 100% appreciate that, but consistency and mental toughness were not his strengths. I do hope he is successful in all that he does in the next chapters of life.

GO VOLS!✌️

I really think that even if he only wins 3 or 4 games this coming season, he still doesn't get fired.
They will give him the next 2 seasons.

Tomorrow has to be the day. If he's staying or going, I think tomorrow it breaks. Has to because Monday is the team meeting when players are back in town.

Yesterday I had heard that tomorrow could be the day but now that yesterday’s tomorrow is now today, I’m hearing that tomorrow is the day, but things could still get interesting today. TIFWIW
