Confused about one thing: how in the hell have these kids in the portal made restitution payments for their improper benefits? They are ineligible until they do so (exception if it's an academic benefit per §16). These kids were getting THOUSANDS of dollars. This assumes those in the portal did, in fact, receive impermissible benefits.

Obviously these transfers do suck, but upon reflection I’m not sure how big of a loss this really is. I mean these guys went 3-7. It’s not like we’re losing players from a 10 win football team. HT hurts but I’m not so sure any player, no matter how many, is really that big of a deal to lose.

We needed a complete overhaul of the program regardless, and if you’re sole reason for being here was the money or benefits you were getting, you probably didn’t have your head and heart in it anyway.

The Henry T transfer makes no sense if eligibility is not at issue.

He's got one year left with a very strong chance he won't be able to play this fall because of the waiver issue.

He's going to be learning a new scheme no matter what. Staying at UT guarantees that he (a) is eligible and (b) has the starting job.

Agreed and any new HC should be able to easily lay this out to HT, EG, etc. It's a very big risk to transfer 1 year from possibly being drafted and waste your last year sitting.

My hope is that this allows every player who was here for this coach or that coach and wasn’t/isn’t there for the University to move on.

We will hopefully see a team that plays hard for one another while not being the most talented and it’s actually fun to watch them.
