stoops definitely fits the bill....he's a hands off hire, and he can just run the show.....brings instant credibility in just about every part of the game.....and would instant command some respect from folks left in the building, players, other staffers, fans and media.

stoops would check every box, and then some.

the trick is, is he really even a realistic "hope" for this job? my gut says no. unless he's just itching for a big pay check and a challenge.....?

Including Volnation's favorite box....delusional.

Prepare for an absolute clean house in football. Don’t expect Steele or anyone for that matter to be retained. Also expecting some massive AD changes as well.
I just want whatever is going to happen to happen fast, including new coaching staff so we can hold the players together that are left on the team. Hopefully most of them are willing to at least ride it out until the new HC is named.

Fulmer was about to lay another turd on us. Obvious now. Incompetent with a big ego apparently. No outside good coach would have come with him handing out contracts to their future assistants before they even interview for the job.

His final imprint on this program is going to be that pathetic, tone-deaf recruiting line. Sad.

Hopefully our next head coach sitting right there below Saban and above Kirby as the #8 most winningest HC (as Win%) currently in college football..

Leadership. We got it. @Ulysees E. McGill
Looks like it...but I don't understand how any honest sane person could blame me for seeing otherwise till this point 🤷‍♂️

Let's see what happens next before we go gaga though..this is a really good start and it shows great situational awareness..finally..but it means nothing if the next hire is a bust. I have a lot more optimism now that it won't be.

We may have finally gotten luck to go our way after all these years and somehow ended up with good leadership...I am and will be abundantly overjoyed to be wrong. I hate being right about bad things.

Help me out. Does this tweet from Tom Mars, who was Cade Mays’ lawyer before he went to work for the NCAA, say that players who received impermissible benefits have a better chance of playing if they remain at their school and don’t transfer?

To me, it’s suggesting that staying and trading info for eligibility is a better path to the field next season than not cooperating with the investigation and asking for a transfer waiver. Not an attorney and it seems somewhat open to interpretation, but that’s my take haha

It's really about excitement. Lane can bring it by the bucket. Former players, recruits, a whole lot of us fans...Kiffin would ignite Knoxville around the VOLS.

That's all it is, and some of us think that he does have the potential to go all the way to the top. UT needs the hope and excitement more than ever. It doesn't have to be Kiffin but it can't be some staid old boring D minded retread either.
Made my point further. I am not trying to demean it. Just saying lots of fans prefer excitement to substance.
