The timelines don't match.
AV has made it seem like the hire has already been made. AV even mentioned candidates had been getting vetted for weeks. Basilio has been spot on and 1 he does not seem high on Kiffin 2 if Kiffin just reached out he is behind in the game.
3. Ingram and Gilbert were the names the media ran with before White came out at the 11th hour.
I don't think Kiffin is a foregone conclusion, but if it ends up being him I would be extremely happy with it.

Not trolling. Kiffin will not coach here again. Maybe some still love him but many don’t. So I just don’t see that happening. Just my opinion. I’m sure Low will break it and has sources. But you don’t hire an AD and already have a long list of candidates. It’s all speculation and as we saw with the AD hire, it’s pretty tight lipped on who they are targeting. I was just told they are going to go big and get this program corrected ASAP. Why I said bigger than Kiffin.

One thing I don’t like is he recycles slogans and speech to the different teams. I saw same diamond speech for west mich and Minnesota. I would think eventually that gimmicky stuff wears off and loses effectiveness. Guy is a fireball of energy though and very relatable to the kids in practice videos. One of the corny guys they fall in love with I guess

while this investigation was going on a few of us were already hard at work on talking to possible coaches. I mean like weeks ago. But we have to keep the media out of this junk it hasn’t been good for the program. We still have to get through this investigation mind you...that is still hanging in the clouds above us.

AV is throwing people off of who they are really going after. He wouldn’t ruin the search and kill the fun.

Yeah, that post from AV makes me think it's not Kiffin. His next post after that was responding to someone who said Kiffin had reached out to UT boosters. ("I can confirm that.") Probably true that Kiffin did, but doesnt seem like AV would've drawn attention to it.

Leopold wouldn’t surprise me but he doesn’t require dump truck money. I have no clue who it could be if it’s a boat load of money that is a current HC. Maybe current doesn’t necessarily mean active and just means a veteran coach that isn’t a coordinator first timer as they would open the list up a bit more

As for coaching names, honestly it’s all over the map as we all try to get a feel for where White wants to go. If he hires someone who doesn’t have head coaching experience then Tony Elliott at Clemson is someone he would like to speak with from what we are told. At 41, Elliott has only ever coached in the state of South Carolina with stints at South Carolina State, Furman and Clemson.

Jamey Chadwell is on the list as is Neal Brown of West Virginia. Billy Napier’s name is one that people ask about and Napier knows the Manning family. We still hear that Napier is going to be very selective in any decision because he’s making good money and really likes his AD. Scott Satterfield from Louisville is another name we are looking into. Someone has also mentioned Sonny Dykes, but we don’t know if there’s anything to that. At 66 years old, I don’t think David Cutcliffe would be a candidate. Cutcliffe is getting ready to get a new AD and he knows the White family well. However, that doesn’t seem realistic.

Then there’s Lane Kiffin’s name. Kiffin just got a new contract at Ole Miss, but he knows the White family and they know him well as Brian White was Kiffin’s boss at Florida Atlantic for two years. We don’t know what Brian White thought of Kiffin, but we are told they didn’t have a bad relationship. Kiffin has told people he would listen if Tennessee called. We don’t just know if White would call and if Kiffin would truly be interested.
