OB had not qualified as of signing day that year. We were full so Butch decided not to risk the scholarship if OB did not qualify. Not sure who we signed in his place. So OB signed with OU and eventually did qualify to enroll.

That's not what he said. He basically said that the players would know who their coach is before it's released to anyone else. I doubt this first meeting is to tell them who the next coach is.

He never said this first meeting was that. He said he wanted to talk to the team first about what they wanted in a coach and then he wanted them to be the first to know who their coach was after it's been decided. He's going to meet with the team more than once I would hope.

Pretty sure he was just listening to Fanrun radio. That's not exactly what was said. Russel Smith was just spit balling and said that Lane had reached out to people to get word to Danny White today that he was interested. Like I said sounded like spit balling to me.

He might be spit balling however I can promise you Lane Kiffin is actively trying to get involved with Tennessee

Anyone listen to VQ power hour? We are about to hire big folks. Hubbs caught Plowman after the PC and asked “so your telling me you didn’t talk to another candidate not a single one besides White?” She told him she is used to academics where everything is out in open and goes through boards and this was first time it was a hush hush deal. She said the best advice she got from talking to people was to pick your guy. Go all in and make him tell you no. So that is what she did.

frost is the low hanging fruit on that list. i don't see heupel or leipold. not aware of any relationship with Herman.

and it goes against the grain of what he's done in the past while making hires, to just go back to guys he's hired before.
