Fleck is my kiffin.
oh, i'm aware....

and i'll give fleck some cred on a few things...he gets compared to butch, sort of unfairly, b/c of the slogans and schtick, which im not a fan of, but....where his philosophy comes from about that, comes from a very genuine place. so if nothing else, i believe, he believes every bit of that stuff. i never thought Butch did. i always thought it was just a means to an end for him....no substance. and though i don't like it, if that's what you are at your core, then stay true to it. so, i'll give him that.

the other thing i'll give him over Butch in spades is that he's not followed another coach and rode coattails like CBJ did with Kelly. Fleck has a track record, and he's been successful, and now he's been moderately successful at a P5 school that doesn't have the backing and resources his peers do....

i don't know that works here or not, i have serious doubts. but....if he could get to winning in relative short order, and sustain it...fans would love it, players would love it.

but as soon as there's a chink the armor...all that schtick then becomes "the reason" we suck....

so, i just don't know that he could sustain/maintain....and he could very well wear out his welcome, quickly. especially if recruiting doesn't take off on some level.

just hard to get the level of buy in needed from EVERYONE with that kind of stuff....

so i'll continue to compare him to Butch, just to piss you off. but, they're not really all that similar if you step back and look....but the reason fleck could fail here, could be for many of the same reasons Butch did. soon as people start checking out...it's over.....

How is bob stoops a defensive coach? I know he cut his teeth as a DC, but since the moment he got his first head coaching job, all they did was score points with several different OCs.

Two heisman winning QBs and set records with their offense. He must have something to do with the kind of offense he wants to run and just about all his OCs were putting up points and yards.

I didn’t say anything negative about Stoops. Heck I’ve wanted him since the first time we fired Fulmer. Always felt he was the guy that could win big here and fast.

He is a defensive coach bc thst is his bread and butter that made him famous. What you said above is what separates him and makes him great. He can see a good offense coach and hire them.

Healy would be a tough sell, but I followed his time at Peay closely and he will be a superstar in the industry at some point.

Two or three more good years at Charlotte and I think he’ll get an SEC job.
That's what is different this time. I don't think DW has a bad coach on his list. Might not be who we would go for, but I am relaxed in that I feel like the best hire that can be made will be. Before it was total anxiety and dread with how bad could they mess it up.

"Small insight: Tee and Elliot are very close. Graham and Eliot are close. Steele and Eliot are close. White and Eliot are close. You can read this two ways: 1- He’s a trusted resource for a common group, or 2- He’s a backup solution that involves keeping some staff."

From the FF @Stoerner Fumbles
Good lord the only one I want to keep on that list is Graham.

I feel like I would be an excellent resource to consult Mr. White and I am not being utilized. This needs to be fixed.

I think it's safe to say the whale all of the insiders have been referring to is Matt Campbell. Agreed?

I think it's just a matter of if they are able to make a deal at this point.
