One season in a weird year is success? Yes, and the warning signs were there for Pruitt, nobody wanted him and nobody wanted to work with him. The story is the opposite with Pruitt. It isn't perfect, but the chances we pull Campbell, Fleck etc... are slim to none. Elliott is better than the rest.At least Chadwell has been a successful head coach, not just a coordinator. Pruitt was thought of as a defensive genius but we all soon realized being a HC was too much for him. This risk is too much at this time for the program, when we are pretty much giving ourselves the death penalty
Not mad at all. I'm actually quite amused. Tennessee will always be tennessee. And you fans will swallow whatever crap coach tennessee feeds you. And you will talk yourselves into thinking it's a 50 dollar steak. Mad? Nope. Barely care about tennessee football anymore. Hahahaha anoooooother coordinator!!!!! But this time he will get it done, Right!? He ain't Pruitt! But white will mentor him!! He wont have to learn on the job like pruitt! Y'all enjoy the next 3 years. Looking forward to two things. Lane kiffin beating us by 40 points and the next coaching searchYou know something? Nope. So you're mad about what exactly?
I’d agree with you about tony Elliot if we left the SEC and joined the sun belt. He’d be an absolute home run there. But this conference isn’t a place to learn your job as you go. Which is well documented. But no let’s go ahead and try it again just with an offensive mind this time.Im not saying it isn't warranted, but there are reasons to not go full Nega.

I think he was/is too, but I don't think he will leave ISU for us right now unless we make him an offer that he would literally be crazy to turn down, and I just don't believe we can make "stupid money" offers like that...hell even I understand that. It would be hard to justify paying him much over 7mil. He is a real football coach, but even he is not close to a sure thing...and then you would have to consider the insane pressure that would come with that kind of money...it would make a tough build even harder managing expectations.I understand what you're saying; but, but Fulmer wouldn't have been able to hire Elliott, especially right now.
If it is Elliott, I truly believe Campbell turned us down. Until I hear different, I believe he is the top target.
You're going Nega. Freeze and Kiffin aren't coming and neither is Campbell. Elliott has the same ceiling as everyone else left on the list maybe higher. White also has a great track record of steering these guys right. Im sure MS ST was sooo worried about Dan Mullen a few years ago. I think UK is pretty happy with never been a HC before Stoops. Mizzou and Arky seem to be ok with their coordinators.I’d agree with you about tony Elliot if we left the SEC and joined the sun belt. He’d be an absolute home run there. I must've scrolled by that. Saw him whining later and couldn't figure out why so I asked in as nice a way as possible. That was for @Voltrapnbama. He proclaimed that UT had hired Elliott, I hit him with a baby powder gif, and he turned into the tazmanian devil. We went back and forth and I asked him to "like this post if HE was sober". He was getting slammed by some other posters and I think he finally rage quit and possibly passed out. I hope he's ok.
If we have the standards of missouri, kentucky and arkansas now then all hope is lost for good. Thanks for proving my point. I just wish I could be proud of the basketball team at least right now. You're going Nega. Freeze and Kiffin aren't coming and neither is Campbell. Tennessee will never go to a proven coach and offer to make him a top 5 paid coach. This program is in doomed to always be average at best.I’m just saying, money talks. We have witnessed that with Jimbo at A&M. If we truly cared, then we would make an offer these guys couldn’t say no to. We will always be competing with Kentucky for 3rd in the east. Should have just gave Pruitt another year with Steele and garner on staff. I mean it was just one season in a weird year right?
You gotta walk before you can crawl. Nobody we hire is winning the East tomorrow. Elliott is a guy that could do it in 4-5 years though. He basically guarantees Simpson and runs a modern high scoring offense. Getting a good QB cuts down the rebuild tremendously, we have two solid options on campus and the potential of Simpson, he could turn it aroundIf we have the standards of missouri, kentucky and arkansas now then all hope is lost for good.
