I am not an EPL or European soccer expert, but I know enough about it to be dangerous I suppose.

Their coaching carousels are a different breed, man. Chelsea brought back Lampard, who is a legendary figure there, then cuts him loose after a couple of years, but it's like it doesn't hurt his "legacy" at all. Those teams cycle through coaches so frequently it makes VolNation look patient.

Really is a different breed. So much money thrown around on players that if you can’t win, you’re gone quick. Lampard was only at Chelsea for 18 months. Team has been awful the past 2 months and down comes the ax.

In the reporting, Feldman only lists three he has heard we have interest in: Elliott, Fickell and Healy. The rest is conjecture.

So, you want to take a guy from a place like Clemson where much like Alabama, they cheat like crazy and bring him in here with ZERO experience as HC with the mess we currently have. Spells disaster

Well, I would prefer to hire a HC that would not be overwhelmed by a place like UT, but the list of those that are willing to make that move a week from NSD is pretty slim.

Beyond that, I think that no matter who we hire, the next couple of years may be rocky. And no matter who we hire, we will have to continue to cheat at some point.

Finally, I would argue that the mess we have is what it is no matter who is in charge. I don’t think the NCAA stuff is going to be resolved any time soon. I think DW has a plan for how to deal with it. I think we have some talent on the roster. I think our QB room may be the best it has been in a long time. Do we have gaps? Sure. But I think that there are a lot of coaches that could come in and get us moving in the right direction pretty quickly. I am not convinced that a G5 coach is any better prepared for that than a top level coordinator.

it is actually pretty rare for a G5 coach to go to a top program and succeed. Who is the last G5 coach to really hit it big at a power school?
