There are no media types even mentioning Campbell as a mere candidate. So either Volnation has built up a fantasy or it's the greatest kept secret.

The whole search so far has been nothing but rank speculation. Yet some people are assuming it’s going well, and others have already given up hope.

A quiet, professional coaching search just isn’t a good matchup for this fanbase.

Just heard from a longtime friend who’s childhood friends with a certain coach in TX. He just told me that coach is supposed to be in East TN Wednesday and Thursday interviewing for the job. If that’s true, don’t expect any news before then — unless White hits a homerun and stops the process.

If you believe the info provided by SF - and I do - then things are not going according to plan.

Could mean negotiations are taking longer than anticipated.

Or you are on to the next candidate.

However if on to the next candidate I think we would have heard by now.

So I think they are still ironing everything out.

If SF is right, candidate #2 has basically already agreed and we lock him up as soon as candidate #1 has turned us down. So if he is right, then you are probably right, they are hammering out the details on #1 (and the plane is in the air).

A buddy of mine, his best friend was on Clemson's staff with Elliot but left a few years ago. Said that Elliot is probably Clemson's best recruiter and he's extremely impressive as an offensive mind. He admitted he's unsure if he would take it.
