Im sorry, but Hugh Freeze and Kiffin has as much baggage as James Franklin does, I dont see how some people can advocate for Freeze yet say they dont want Franklin because of baggage.

Am I saying I want Franklin? He’s not the worst we could do, hes a good coach but that baggage is concerning, as would my opinion be on Freeze. If we vetted him and he got cleared, then lets ride he is a decent coach, het won 9 games in one season at Vanderbilt after all. It still would be better then Dykes or a coordinator

You do realize Franklin and Saban are almost hated equally on Volnation. Hell at least I half way respect Saban.

I was livid about Franklin last night. He's somewhat grown on me. Still think he's a slimeball and a d*ck, but he wins football games. As good of a track record of winning as you can get in a coaching hire.

Again, I ask why would he want to come to UT when he has the contract we would offer already and does not have to rebuild this mess?

I don't want Franklin, but the rumor is that his daughter needs medical care from Nashville, and this would be easier for him. Plus, you know, if we offer 40 million, we have no state income tax.

He struggled personally being away from family this year. There were a few articles written on it. Maybe Knoxville is somewhere he stay closer to them.

Certain things may mean more than raw salary, if enough guarantees are given (eg length of contract).
