I'll play devil's advocate for a moment and jump on the Nega-Vol bandwagon. If it is true that we missed on our whale, and if it is true that we skipped straight to Elliot and Dykes as our top contenders, then Danny White is as big of a fraud as any of the past ADs including Phillip Fulmer.

Let's take AP's info at face value for a second. If Franklin was the whale and we made a huge run at him and missed, it is inexcusable to then refuse to speak with Kiffin or Freeze. If integrity is not an actual issue, and you're willing to hire someone like Franklin, then skipping over other viable candidates to hire Elliot or Dykes is an embarrassment. And to not even INTERVIEW Chadwell would be beyond stupid.

See, this is why I believe 99% of this info tonight is BS. It's all predicated on the basis that Danny White is an idiot and makes hypocritical decisions. Nothing we have heard about White leads me to believe he is that dumb. So none of this information makes any sense.

I agree 100%. I actually believe the reason we’re not hearing any leaks from the “other side” bc it’s possible it’s Herman or maybe Gus & there’s no current players to leak that out

No crapping here. I like Chadwell a lot. I would crawl on broken class with a UHAUL on my back to pickup Chadwell if it meant preventing Steele, Elliot, or Dykes from getting the job.

i think info sharer reliability is a little more fluid than legit vs fraud. but this does read like he was confident in what he was told early because of who he feels the source is.... and is realizing people involved can think they're a little bit more important/bigger of a deal than they are and fluff it a little.

if we get a bad hire, its likely because of desirability of the job. DW has a track record outside of the UT bubble that's worked. this isnt hammy or currie. a struggling team with ncaa problems, brutal schedule and sky high expectations is not easy to walk into.

We just have to hope the person willing to walk into it rises to the challenge and doesn't break.

At this point.... Give me a offensive mastermind... Kiffin proved he could at least make the Bama game somewhat competitive this year (with 3 stars )without having a defense... we had a defensive coach and got hammered. ( at least most of the names seem offense oriented)

I still can't wrap my head around we go through all of this, fire pruitt, then Fulmer, open our doors to the NCAA, pay 2 mil for an AD and then turn around and hire a guy who the AD didn't think was good enough for UCF. Fan f!@king tastic

Well if your only real goal was to get rid of Fulmer and make sure you were even more firmly entrenched it makes perfect sense. If you give a damn about the program or winnning then not so much.
