Kiffin has been trolling our fan base all season and stealing our tight end recruits, yet our fan base falls for it every time. Oh, he wants to come back. All he wants is to weaken UT for an easy win next year.
This job is just not attractive right now. I do not think Sonny Dykes is an option. Tony Elliott has been in much demand in both college and NFL and has turned them all down. He has shown interest.
Chadwell and Napier - who knows. Everyone says Chadwell’s previous violations are no big deal, but we need squeaky clean. Napier who knows.
Earlier today, I had hoped for Fickell, but I think coaches are hesitant. If I had to guess - Elliott is the hire.

How about we never end the coaching search? This really is the most fun we have compared to the heartbreak most Saturdays. Tennessee coaching search brings more enjoyment than the actual games the past decade.

This isn’t really fun when Sonny Dykes is your likely coach.

Ok fine!..but the point is he wants the damn job!..more so than anyone who’s in the discussion or willing to accept the hire that’s worth a damn.period.we will settle for a 4 and 5th option when we could have a serious program changing option.I’m fully prepared for us to take a chance on some one hit wonder hot shot,unknown but raw coach or up and coming coach and depending on who you are and how you view them we have done all 3 and it’s not worked out in our favor.

I typically don’t get overly emotional about things in general, but I think if this Dykes stuff is real then White will have the shortest honeymoon in the history of ADs. I cannot bring myself to believe that we would spend $2 million on an AD for him to bring in Sonny Dykes. Hell just put Chaney in charge or something if that’s the way it would be.

I kinda prefer sonny dykes to some others... great offenses everywhere he’s been but not great defenses.... let’s say we keep Steele and I think that’s a winning combo. We know sonny can head coach.

How do you know defensive players are going to come just because Steele is here? Auburns recruiting class was terrible this year even before Malzahn got fired. Top offensive players aren't going to play in his system either.

So, let me get this straight. Just a few days ago this board was in lock step agreement that AP was a clown and has lost his sources. He was so far off on the AD search, we all were laughing. Now, he makes a post that provides you the negative confirmation bias the battered Tennessee fanbase was waiting on, and all of a sudden he is a prophet and we need to be really worried and concerned.

I can tell you this much, there is NO way DW signs up for this job to hire from a pool of James Franklin, Sonny Dykes, or Tony Elliot when there are coaches like Jamey Chadwell, Lane Kiffin, Tom Herman, Guz Malzahn, Billy Napier, P.J. Fleck, etc.

Are you all so damn battered and beaten down that you think DW, who is universally lauded as being incredibly smart and well connected, is going to hire freaking Kevin Steele or Sonny Dykes as our coach? Or that we're going to preach integrity and take a run at James Franklin but ignore Kiffin and Feeze?

Literally none of this lines up and you all are buying all this garbage.

That AP update is hilarious. No way it’s actual real information. I mean...

- We know White met in Atlanta with some folks but don’t know who. But names that “pop up” are Sonny Dykes and Elliott. Lol what.

- There were in deep talks with James Franklin but he’s staying at PSU because of locker room upgrades. what?!

- Oh and White better not take Steele for granted because that will hurt his feelings and he’ll go elsewhere.

Is this real life? That has to be 100% made up nonsense. Not a chance AP knows anything relevant to this coaching search.

AP/Hubbs/VQ are great for team news and recruiting, but even they’ve thrown in the towel and admitted they have no clue what’s going on with this search. White has been praised by nearly everyone in the media about how good an AD he is, and his secrecy being one of the reasons for it. He’s known for feeding misinformation to the media while he’s making a completely different move. We may not get the whale, but that doesn’t mean we’re hiring Dykes. DW is competent.
