I’m reading Hubbs and AP. There’s nothing to be positive about right now. Maybe DW pulls off a miracle, but Franklin turned us down and the only names are Elliot, Steele, and freaking Dykes

Let’s see 400 or so pages behind...won’t be able to catch up and don’t have much time been quite busy since sat. Everything is still progressing as planned. Don’t let any of this smoke from anyone in the media fool you. Everyone has an agenda. And so do we. DW knows EXACTLY what he is doing. AV has me back on board....for now. I'm very excited about the prospect of a big fish being reeled in at long last.

The one thing I'm not excited about is the idea of that fish being Franklin. If we're willing to poach him from Penn State and pay huge money for him, I would hope there would be other high quality coaches we could get that aren't assholes or tied to the Vandy scandal. Just disappointing if he is indeed the hire.

Money is not and will not be an issue moving forward with this program.

Serious question for a second - are private donor dollars indeed allowed to pay coaches?

I hear we have fully-private funding of 200-300 million for Neyland renovations. How could we not take, say, $100 million and guarantee it toward the next coach for the next decade? The university pays $5 million and private funding up to $10 million a year. You could offer absolutely anyone $15mm a year and you wouldn't get past candidate #5. Saban...Dabo...Urban...Riley...etc, you would ensure a top 5 coach...

I’ve always liked Cristobal...never mind the fact that you could make crude t-shirts in Orange based off his last name alone. I mentioned it about 100 pages ago but people crapped on the idea. Dude is a good coach, can recruit, offensive minded. Herbert is a baller. Yeah yeah Nike money and all that but the Pac12 never plays in the playoff. Conference is weak. Plus he recruits Florida and is an offensive line guru. Go get him.

I always thought he was a DB, but never paid attention to the rape allegations. I think it's dangerous to litigate in a public forum, so I'm not digging into this.

If it is Franklin I’m burning everything I have related to Tennessee.

I am so damn torn if they choose Franklin...between the team and university I have loved my entire 50 years of life, and continuing to support it with the likes of this man.

I honestly don't believe I could do it. I'm no high and almighty person, but this guy does not instill INTEGRITY (as the administration promised), and as this great school deserves...especially after what we have been through for well over a decade.
