True. Or, Penn State could give him a raise to decrease the gap. And Penn State is probably a comparable or better job than Tennessee on our best day. And we are far from our best day.

We hired Kiffin because he recruited well and scored a ton of points at USC - and he wasn't calling plays there. The Raiders stuff was seen as a negative against him.

You hire Elliott because he recruits well and puts up a ton of points at Clemson.

Kiffin sold bringing in a stellar staff as well.

Chadwell or Elliott would get this place fired up after the initial shock that Kiffin or Freeze weren't options.

There are still better coaches to be looked at. Not sure this school is ready for another assistant coach and rookie. Elliot has turned down two NFL jobs to do what, take a HC for the first time at a school that is on probation? I doubt that is on his bucket list. lol I mean even experienced coaches doesn't want to touch it. lol I just don't see why he would leave a firm job at a top college football school to jump into a pool dodo. LOL

If we are willing to hire Franklin and pay him 7-8 million, then there is no reason we shouldn’t offer Freeze 5-6 million.

If money is no object, why would we even go after Franklin? He's not a Saban caliber coach, he's not worth that type of money. If money is not a problem, you go bigger.
