Hiring the guy Cal just fired is program suicide. Taking a year which was already going to suck and conducting a real coaching search may not be the worst option.

I wish we could go back and have an interim coach for a year instead of hiring Dooley.

So, Volzowns gave us 2 hints:

1) Some people complain about 70 degree days. As some have said, this would imply it's a great hire if not perfect hire as 70 degree whether is considered perfect weather.

2) It's not a name that we all think it is.

If Volzowns isn't just blowing smoke up our butts to make us feel better, then this means we probably got a big name.

Yeah, I am. The last time Jeff Fisher was in the Super Bowl was the year after we won the National Championship. I could list a whole raft of reasons why Jeff Fisher would be an awful choice. The Super Bowl is irrelevant—he’s never coached in college—never recruited. The NFL and college football are two entirely different games—not to mention the fact that ‘99 was 21 years ago or about the age some of our football players or potential recruits that he would be calling on. Kids might know Fisher from his terrible run with the Rams but that’s it. So would I hire Elliott over him? Hell yes. On top of the fact he’s been out of coaching for 4 years...nope.
