It depends on the amount of patience they're expected to have. I think fans at this point would be fine with steady progress. I think if by year four if your beating sc,ky,mz,and Vandy and your occ opponents establishing yourself as a solid third in the east, fans will be fine. If recruiting continues to improve and fans can see light at the end of the tunnel fans will be mostly good. Sure, some will never be happy. Most fans were tickled with Pruitt after last season. Thought things were trending up.

You may be right. IDT people have a lot of patience left, though. I think people are tired of disappointing, never-ending rebuilds. Another bitch-slapping from UK or an embarrassing loss to Vandy, Mizzou or SCAR isn't going to go over well. Instead of adjusting their expectations, I think people will start adjusting how they spend their Saturdays. Some already have.

Things I am positive about:

You win with QB play and offense in college. This dude coaches up QBs well.

We will have a fun offense and it will work. It worked at Missouri with less talented players.

He is better than Dykes and Steele.

We should always out talent everyone but four teams and with this offense, we should be able to beat everyone with lesser talent.

UT recruits itself. We will be fine recruiting and players will want to play in this offense.

Needs to nail his defensive staff and defensive coordinator. I like Zack Arnett.

Uh yeah. The top 300 in the country and you can't get 1? Get on the field quicker at UCF and live in Orlando over Gainesville and Tallahassee. I'd much rather do that.

You are in the minority then. Those highly ranked recruits don't want to go to Disney World. They want FSU, Florida and Miami but again, recruiting is the least of my worries. Recruiting to UT and recruiting to UCF are not comparable. Is Frost a terrible recruiter? So bad that he had an undefeated season?

From a poster on VQ: Mizzou averaged 280 ypg in 2015 before Heupel. In 2016 with Heupel, they averaged 500 ypg.

I am excited. We will become WRU again with this guy.

UCF is the largest in state university, and has a huge mark-up for out of state tuition. With one of the lowest acceptance rates in Florida.

Looks like the Gators are the only in-state school with higher out of state cost... UCF is not an easy place to recruit to at all.

Well players that come to play there don't have to pay tuition. Moot point.

Tennessee though, one of the easier schools to recruit to. Partly because our acceptance rate is 79% (UCF's is 44%). So we have an easier time getting struggling students in than most of the country. While also having some of the best facilities and being in the SEC. I think we'll recruit just fine. I also think once we start racking up 30+ ppg we'll be even more attractive to attend.

I didnt think he was. I hope he has a Drew Lock type jump with Heupel. He has a better supporting cast and was also rated higher than Lock coming out of high school

You and me both. I think Heupel can make him a star. All our QBs should be thrilled.

You know what tho... the guy WANTED us and that says a lot, I think he is a confident guy who can win here... the only negative is that he is not a “recruiter” but that is not necessarily what we need right now we need a guy that can coach and he’s proven that

You were a HS coach in GA? You probably knew or knew of the coach that I used to hang around as a high schooler - BEST football coach ever - Robert Davis. He would have been a great college coach too. Learned most of what I know about football from him. I know, a girl, but I was a total gym rat and loved the game.
