They are just players. It’s not like he walked into bama’s roster. Our program and brand will take care of the recruiting. Huepal and staff need to develop and i know for a 10000% fact this mf can coach QBs. Build a solid roster... get lucky on a QB. That’s the quickest way to success in general and that path seems likely with JH.

I would love for it to be Barry Odom. I think he is one of the best defensive minds in the business.

Well players that come to play there don't have to pay tuition. Moot point.

Thing is UCF has only had a football team since '96, the school has only recently started to catchup as an athletics program because they get paid well for students especially any that come in out of state. Danny White started bringing them up as an athletic program, but a scholastic school that happens to be the largest in Florida with some of the highest out-of-state cost isn't going to worry much about "taking care" of their student athletes.

I'm fine with that. As much as we fans like to think otherwise, we've proven we don't have much more than a clue who the best coaching hire would be for us. I'm fine with that as long as it's who he really wants and not his plan c, d, etc.

We're definitely down the list. But they have to stop the internal warfare and hire someone who can mesh with the shotcallers to even have a chance.

Steele is a snake in the grass that shouldn't be trusted, period. Anyone hired by Fulmer or associated with Fulmer needs to go IMMEDIATLEY

Yep. Great guy. I spent 7 years at Peach County and 1 year at Northside, WR.

Yes, he was and will really be missed. I was at WRHS with James Brooks, Ron Simmons and Jimmy Womack (Herschel needs to remember where some of his success comes from). Good times. Heupel’s success will depend on who he surrounds himself with. I do think the hire is bad optics for DW - if JH is that good of a coach, then DW burned a bridge at UCF. If DW was worried that JH might not survive at UCF and saved him, then it’s a burned bridge at Tennessee. Kind of a no-win situation. I just want a really good coach for Tennessee that knows football and how to teach it.
