I have often thought if i was AD i would try something a little different.

I would hire an Offensive Head Coach and a Defensive Head Coach - they can both have coordinators to help game plan, practice, recruit, etc. but they would own that side of the ball. totally split it out instead of having an offensive or defensive minded CEO manage it all.

I don't think the recruiting will be good enough to make us elite. But we're going to score points and I think that gets us to 8-9 wins pretty quickly.

Let's not delude ourselves into thinking that having a better offense, but still losing, would be "fun" or "more fun." You're thinking that purely because Pruitt's teams were so offensively challenged.

Remember Dooley's 2012 team? Was that fun scoring 44 against Georgia and still losing? Was it fun needing at least 49 points in order to beat Troy? Nobody cared or thought it was "fun" that Bray threw for 530 yards that game.

I ****ing loved the Bray/Hunter/Rogers/Patterson offense. We all want to win but my God that was much more fun than watching JG this year

Seemingly has a sharp offensive mind himself, that was probably hampered by Pruitt. Hope he stays and collaborates with Heupel. Also a good recruiter, and I've not heard any players bitch about him. Seems to just go out and work. Comes across sort of "blue collar" to me. It's all based on perception as I don't actually know him.

I don't hate the hire. I actually think we might have lucked into a star - it is contingent on staff and getting the right players.

But i don't think he is has to be a stud recruiter - head coaches don't do that much anyway in recruiting.

He does need a STUD DC and they need to be left alone to dominate.

The offense will score points and QB will be so much better. and you win with QB play. So let's go!!!
