I've learned over the years to not trust any information from the AD. Remember when Bahama John seemingly was scouring the planet for coaches? Gonna bring us a big fish? It was Shiano from the minute they fired Dooley. It would not surprise me one bit if DW told them when he interviewed he could bring JH with him. Did they put feelers out for other coaches? Sure they did. Did they push beyond the initial no? I doubt it. What if Alabama had taken the initial no from Saban? Or the second No. Or the third no? I think this thing has been decided for some time. Its all grandstanding. Its all justification for "This was the best we could do. We have a toxic fan base. The NCAA cloud is hovering over us."Obviously it wasn't if we're being serious lol
This wouldn’t have mattered. We had teams that were telling on us to the NCAA. So if we didn’t self report we would have gotten an investigation anywaysBottom line?
@Atlanta VOL was wrong. @LA Vol was right. Plowman bit off way more than she could chew and she choked. We were better off leaving Pruitt one more year then firing him. That way we didn't self report to the NCAA. Then we probably could have had Freeze, Campbell, Fickell, or Fleck because we wouldn't have these incoming crippling sanctions.
We will be back here in 4 years. Enjoy the shi*show.
I don't hate the hire. I actually think we might have lucked into a star - it is contingent on staff and getting the right players.
But i don't think he is has to be a stud recruiter - head coaches don't do that much anyway in recruiting.
He does need a STUD DC and they need to be left alone to dominate.
The offense will score points and QB will be so much better. and you win with QB play. So let's go!!!

Tennessee though, one of the easier schools to recruit to. Partly because our acceptance rate is 79% (UCF's is 44%). So we have an easier time getting struggling students in than most of the country. While also having some of the best facilities and being in the SEC. I think we'll recruit just fine. I also think once we start racking up 30+ ppg we'll be even more attractive to attend.
Hopefully after 3 football seasons, not 4. But I 100% agree with your post. Can we start the countdown to December 2023?Bottom line?
