We literally just hired someone who has better offensive numbers then both. Without the baggage. And isn't a flight risk. Again he also beat Kiffin twice.
That was part of the problem with this search short of hiring Saban this fan base wasn't going to accept anybody not named Freeze or Kiffin and people need to get over that. They weren't options. This guys resume is just as good.

I have never understood why we take swings at tens that are unattainable. We then fall back to a 4. Why not take swings at 8’s which you actually might have a chance at.

We may have went after others as well (I’m sure we did), those were just the ones he mentioned bc they asked him about DW’s line or “Heupel was our #1 target”

Keeping Steele and bringing in Garner gives us a very good D staff.

The 180 happened a long time before the press conference. People actually started looking into the guys past and realized he’s elite on offense and will score points.
