Ramel and Tillman and maybe malachi will thrive. The smaller speedsters put up big numbers too on big plays. Big most of the targets tend to go to bigger more possession type receivers in this offense. Chain movers that run great short to medium routes. Go watch Gabe Davis there in 18 and 19 and Marlon Williams last year. Neither are speedsters. Both over 6ft and run great routes. Not that I disagree with Hyatt and Callaway being big time in this offense. Just that it's a myth that it's the small speedsters that thrive the most in it.Nice. Looks like HB will do just fine. Guys like Hyatt and Calloway should excel
Swain also said that one thing that worries him about Huepel’s offense is that it doesn’t produce NFL receivers. He said guys will put up a lot of numbers, but that they won’t be developed because they will mainly be running quick slants and screens but won’t be learning the entire route tree. Is that true?

We just have to be patient with defense. We’re gonna be changing systems and our offense will ask a lot of our defense when they will have quick empty series. I think it’s gonna be more important to focus on what our defense does in the red zone vs how many yards and points they give up especially in year one. Our defense will probably end up actually being better than their ranking at the end of the year. I’m really glad we have those 3 non conf games at the starts. It’s like we get a practice run, we test it against Pitt then we can tweak it the next week and hopefully by the time we get to florida we have a little bit of confidence built on both sides.
Here's what Heupel systems do, they get their WRs catches, yards, and TDs.... if those WRs are the right size and fast they make it in the NFL. It's not rocket science.
There's nothing to really pick at with him on the offensive side of the ball, his success at TN will come down to having the right guy as DC to keep the opponents from out boat racing us.
