I usually sit back read and keep my mouth shut, but I am done with that. I am 40 today. I have been a Vol fan my entire life. We have the best AD and head Coach that we have had in awhile. Compare their resumes with the previous people in their positions.

Seems like we are focused too much on JH being a UCF guy. He coached in the Big 12 and the SEC. I think he figured out what type of players and coaches are needed to win at this level.

What he did at Missouri was far more impressive than anything any candidate We’ve hired in the past has done.

If not Steele, who do you want for DC? Zack Arnett looks like a good option. Charlotte Warren had a good year at Indiana. Think we could hire him away? Jim Leavitt has always seemed underrated to me.

CHARLTON Warren just accepted the DC position at Indiana.

Get the DC hire right.

Make the state of Tennessee your recruiting priority for 2022.

Score points and make UT football fun again.

Don't do anything to bring more shame or controversy onto the program.

I hope and think these are realistic for year 1.

I have some concern as to if we can attract a top defensive guy with as fast as Heupel wants to go offensively. It sets up most DC for failure and and scrutinizing when people look more at stats/pts instead of flow of game. That many possession and time on field your going to give up yds/pts but still will have fans calling for your head and saying you suck

Some truth to this. When you lead the nation in offensive possessions you are also going to have a lot of defensive possessions. Which leads to a lot of points even if the defense is playing good. That's why I like some of the younger guys coming up like the miss st guy. He specializes in coaching defense for a high octane offense. There's more of a compatibility between offense and defense than say a muschamp with an offense like this. Since it's designed with the offensive style in mind. I think that's why Shannon didn't really work. UCFs defense was better under frost because even though the DC wasn't a big name, he came up with frost and designed the defense within that offensive system. Whereas Shannon was trying to fit an old school approach in.

Are they looking for new and exciting challenges? Able to work independently with minimal supervision? Available seven days a week and most weekends.

Because it validates how smart and savvy they are in their own eyes.

If you are successful then it is a great thing..... I hate seeing all the animosity towards former vols when we fail.

This is why I don’t want Manning any closer to the program than he already is. The great ones need to stay at arms length and show up at appropriate times. You don’t see Brady messing w/ Michigan too often, you don’t hear much about Jordan and UNC, he’s too busy screwing up the Bobcats/ Hornets.
