I’ll say this. Palmer didn’t go to the Senior Bowl and suddenly learn how to run routes. He was taught that. The biggest problem in my opinion was the lack of QB development and offensive linemen development. This hindered the Wideouts tremendously.I do agree that with the offense we were electing to run it did not set our WRs up to have big games/stats. But I also fail to believe that Pruitt was coaching the WR group as well as calling the plays. The players could still have been adequately coached and developed in practice and they weren’t. That’s why you get reviews like they have the last two years at the Senior bowl etc. that the boys looked like they didn’t receive proper college coaching. That is not on scheme that is on their position coach in either not coaching them in proper techniques/route running or not coaching them at all.
I agree that Tee has proven himself to be a good WR coach in the past but the product he has put on the field at UT has been subpar. If you take what was a good coach that was producing well developed players then he goes somewhere else and that doesn’t happen the question would be why? You have direct responsibility over coaching those guys at their position that is solely on you. That would be a question that should absolutely happen if he were to interview for another job.
What I believe it is pointing to is laziness and not giving a damn. Which is more than likely why he was easily glazed over in the coaching search.
I have a pretty good track record of evaluating coaching hires. This guy has his work cut out for him.
But of course, I don’t know anything. We’ll see what happens!
But to me, it is just as legitimate to be anxious about the immediate future as it is to be sure great things are coming.
True. The fact is we do not know what is going to happen. So do we assume that good things could happen because of X, Y and Z, or do we assume that bad things will happen because of N, O and P? When someone mentions one side people then assume the other side is being ignored.I was thinking the same thing. We do this to every coach. lol We got a bunch of assumers in here and Kingston leads the way. LOL
Acting like hiring this guy is a sure thing is silly and wondering why people are vocalizing the questions they have about how this program is going to look going forward is disingenuous.Well that's out there on a limb. "he has his work cut out for him" lol As far as your track record, according to who? Yourself? You throw so much crap on the wall some will stick. lol

Bottom line: we all hope this works out.
I’m not going to swoop in from the rafters every time someone has a valid concern...as I did in previous hires. I’m optimistic but wary as most of the fanbase. Doesn’t mean when the usual suspects start hawking the philosophy of “this means that and that means this” that I’ll sit idly by.Acting like hiring this guy is a sure thing is silly and wondering why people are vocalizing the questions they have about how this program is going to look going forward is disingenuous.

UCF fans and players really don't seem to like the guy. It really feels like when Cinci fans were thrilled we hired Butch
(15yrs and counting rebuild)I think concerns about the roster and recruiting are valid. We've lost some of our best players, and we have significant holes to fill. We have young talent, a lack of depth and the team's few leaders are moving on. The SEC is tough and unforgiving.
But... UT will ride with this hire for a long while and he'll have a lot of latitude. In addition to asking the players and fans for a lot of patience, they've been talking to donors about the need for support and tolerance during a difficult rebuild.

I played golf at Torrie Pines and my son and I drove up the Pepperdine campus because he wanted to check it out for college. Beautiful place but it's in California
